1. above a few posts i posted a picture of the engine and a broken part...anyone know what it is?
2. I am thinking about getting a Chiltons repair manual or something like it...anyone have a suggestion on a repair manual. My jeep runs, but i want to change a few things and have no experience.

PO changed the master cylinder but there still no brakes. Fluid was low so I topped it off. When power is off I have resistance at the pedal, when I start the rig pedal will go to the floor with no resistance and the brakes don't work.
What should I do first?

I have a 2000 xj 4.0l and I have to replace the power steering pump. Is there anything that I need to know before replacing it? I just need any pointers I can get. Thanks

Opinion on Leaf Springs vs Lift
I am 13894325% sure I need new leaf springs as I can barely seat two people in the rear seat and hit a bump with out rubbing.
But my question is, would you guys prefer to buy new leafs, or just throw more money at it and get a small lift (1.5-2") Which I was thinking about doing already. But the springs right now are for sure on my to do list.

Yea, I am still thinking about it, but isn't that the height at which I will have to start considering SYE, Transfer case drop, and new shocks?
But I'm checking out some of these prices, and these are ridiculous for such a small lift. This is also my first lift experience, so I am still not to sure what to be looking at. Think I should throw this question on the Lift and tire thread?
