Most rental carpet cleaners offer an upholstery wand that works pretty well.
i might try that if it isnt to expensive but i might just pull the carpets out and clean them while repairing the holes because i pushed on the part where its rusted and a big chunk of rust came out so i might pull it out and clean it. plus might be thinking of putting new rocker panels in while im at it they are looking rough as well. but hey its my jeep and i love it. you take care of it and itll take care of you to bad its been neglected like that.

Anyways, I am pretty sure either the rod is too long and I messed sometting up forcing it into gear OR I am missing the spring that's supposed to go on the mode shift fork's rod.

Where can I fond that spring? I have googled til my eyes bled and can't find it. If they don't sell it anyone know about what size it is so I can buy one from a hardware store? Any help is appreciated.
You are on the right track, I'm not sure how to tell if the issue is the rod or the spring.

Put some band aids on your eyes. Item number seven on the diagram, 2.97:

Default U-joints

Hey everyone, I'm working on trying to get u-joints replaced and right now I'm stumped. I'm not finding much out about these so i'll just ask here. The u-joints just forward of the transfer case on the front driveshaft, i've only heard of it called a knuckle, on my 94 xj are shot. I didn't know if there was a thread that had some info on this or if someone could tell me where to look or maybe just the numbers for the u-joints. Doesn't look like rocket science to change them…hopefully. Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

I just got 4 KC lights that are 12 volt, 100 amp, for my 95 XJ. I want them to go on my roof. I want to get a 2 leg harness, so I won't have to run 4 wires through. How long does the harness need to be?
Would something like this work?
Amazon.com: Kawell&#8482 2 Leg Wiring Harness Include Switch Kit 80w 40 Amp Relay Car Auto LED Work Lights Lamp Wire for Off Road LED Light Bars and LED Work Lamps/utv/truck/suv: Automotive Amazon.com: Kawell&#8482 2 Leg Wiring Harness Include Switch Kit 80w 40 Amp Relay Car Auto LED Work Lights Lamp Wire for Off Road LED Light Bars and LED Work Lamps/utv/truck/suv: Automotive

Easiest way is to swap the doors. But you would need to change over to the newer style striker for the latches.

All joints were same # on front shaft (at least at O'rielys, greaseable)

Don't forget centering ball.
WARNING !! sticker shock, cost more than 2 joints.

Mark orientation of parts

Default Starter stays engaged

1997 xj country 4.0

Alright. More fun provided by my jeep. I've had a rare issue where my starter will stay engaged. Turning the key again would shut it off, or turning the engine off completely would obviously do the trick. Restart wouldn't be an issue.

Well, now that it's 9 million degrees I've been having a LOT of these issues. Additionally when I turn the key to off, the engine keeps turning over. I do now have a rear at 4.5in. so the whole jeep is pitched nose down. Not sure if that is making things worse. New starter? New ignition switch? Ideas? I'm not liking the horrible grinding noise the engine makes when this happens.

Is your valve cover or oil pressure sending unit leaking?

Either your starter & solenoid need to be cleaned or you've got a bad relay further upstream.

There's been oil all other the bottom since I got her but i haven't noted much if an oil leak from the dipstick readings. I did replace the oil pressure sensor a few months back and it has been sometimes working and sometimes not. Also installininstalled a different NSS last october. Everything has worked fine until I lifted the rear and this hot weather has been around. I'm sure every single gasket needs replaced at this point. The PO seems to have abused her hard the more I take things apart to fix them

I would first suspect that the starter/solenoid is gunked up. I suggest dropping it for cleaning and inspection.
