I just installed a H4 high wattage headlamp harness and it inverted the high/low beam switch function. There must be a miswire in the harness right out-of-the-box. No wonder it made the low beams seem brighter than before! If you installed this kit then you need to test your high/low beam switch function vs. actual illumination of headlamps.
I figured i'd ask, rather than just get a crappy "drill-a-hole & stick-it-in" xenon kit from somewhere.

..unless anyone can recommend anything else they've done to brighten-up my visibility..? Or, if anyone wants to recommend anything else I can do to my DD. I'll be getting a nice bonus($) in July, and i'm just itching to start making something out of my mostly stock XJ!

How can I remove the dome light assembly to check the wires? My front dome lights refuse to switch on even though the fuses and the bulbs are fine. And the back seat ones only turn on when the door opens. Also, my passenger side door doesn't lock. Is it possible to replace the lock instead of buying a new door entirely? Is there an online manual I can look at so that I can do this myself w/o spending a fortune at a shop?

What axle comes stock on 98 xj sports? I believe mine is an (8.25") ? I compared it to chart of different ones. Well anyways how should it hold up to 31's? And what is the gear ratio in it? Thanks.

They will hold to about 35" tire with no problem, 31s won't be that big of a deal. I'm pushing 33s with stock gears On a Chrysler 8.25.
