Thanks bruv, you too Cane. I flushed the system a few months ago and replaced the sending unit. I should have replaced the thermostat too.
So this needs to be dealership item only?
Just ordered one with a gasket from the dealership. It's $20something and the gasket is $6something. Ac/delcos are fewer than $10.

I recently found an 88 XJ 5spd 4.0 with about 200k on it that I can get for super cheap, $450. It's got a 231, clean body and interior, and has a factory tire carrier also, two problems
1. It's a two door which I'm not particularly fond of but with the rest of its stats I don't care
2. This is the big problem, the guy states that he cannot keep it running and has replaced the module 5 times because it keeps burning them up (I guess he was hoping he bought 4 bad ones?). What could be causing this and is it fairly easy to fix?

That's what I was thinking when he said module. As for cruisers tips I wasn't sure if they would apply here. I suppose might as well get it preform the necessary refreshing etc. and see if that works.

My temp gauge shows this after it should be warm:
What could be causing this?
My first thought was a faulty sensor, but then I thought stuck thermostat.
I call on the powers of the Jeep community.
Edit: heat was working. But I couldn't tell if it was as hot as should be.

It still "heats up" to about 130, and there she sits. The only time it's gone higher is once when I left the cap off by mistake after changing the coolant, and it overheated when it all leaked out.
