Had same problem on my 4.0/ax15. Eventually sold it and then the next day the guy told me the fuel pump went dead.

was hoping it wasn't the pump as my fuel pressure keeps testing fine. might order a new pump and if it doesn't work, take it back out and keep it for the "good jeep" that is in storage. thanks. also, I like reading your build threads.

edit: just went online and ordered a mopar TPS and Bosch Fuel pump and filter. hopefully one of these fixes it.

any other ideas would be appreciated!

Smile 96 XJ Grille question

Hi! I'm new here, so I apologise if this is the wrong spot to ask (I searched, but couldn't find the answer in FAQs).

My husband has a 96 XJ Sport. I want to buy a chrome grille and headlight surrounds for him for Xmas, and wanted to know the difference between the 92-96 and 97 onwards grille. I realise they have 8, then 7 insert bits respectively, but are they interchangeable?

I've asked a few retailers who sell these, and they have no idea. I don't have access to a 97 onward model to measure it myself. Understandably, I don't want to buy the wrong one. Oh, and I'm in Oz, so we have way fewer retail options for parts. (I've been looking online for a few weeks now, and found a cover option called Bling King, but they only have the 7 insert package.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dakota.

The front clip is interchangeable between new and old styles, but it involves much more than the grille insert. You want one from an '84-87 (10-slot) or '88-96 (7-slot) grille.

Laredo trim levels had the chrome you're looking for.

Thanks heaps for the fast reply. Ok, no worries. I've seen those available at some of the retailers also. I was hoping they were all identical dimensions, etc.

The previous owner didn't look after him very well, so we want to do the old fellow up.

Cheers!

The plug comes from the wiring harness.

Hopefully that picture will do justice. I'm thinking it's where the intake air flow temp sensor should be.

Anybody know what the point of this wiper module thing is for? It was under the dash. My wipers would only work on one speed and when I turned it on high this thing would start making noises but the wipers would stay the same speed. I took this peice off and luckly the two plugs connect to each other. Now the wipers work great, all speeds. What does this thing do?

Only if you want intermittent wipers would you replace it.
