Yes I forgot I did that. That was actually the first thing I did. I did a little research on upgrading the fuel injectors. I found out that the OEM injectors were easily gummed up and we'rent great on fuel regulation due to the design of the pinsel cap only having on hole for fuel dispensing. So I went with neon injectors out of dodge neons and caravans. And I replaced the fuel rail because my old one was pretty rusted. Still have the misfire today

I hear you. The further I dig into my xj, the more upset I get. I live in MN where the weather is **** 6 months out of the year and the roads get salted and rust and tear the hell out of vehicles. When I bought it a year ago, I thought I had found a gem. Low miles, strong runner, select Trac transfer case, and what I thought was a little amount of rust. Well a little under a year later, I find more and more rust. Thinking I have to start completely over and just keep this one a daily

Could either of you post a link to where you bought the blue PermaDry plus?
Like salad, I have not been able to find it.

How old are your sensors?

I replaced my sensors when I bought it because when I bought it, I had a check engine light on for the idle air control valve and a dealer specific code that turned out to be my pcm was fried. So I replaced all of that within a week after buying the jeep so they aren't even a year old

I've only ordered from RockAuto once, and they sent me the wrong part. I understand they have a great reputation, but I prefer to buy locally.

Quick question: what can cause the brake warning light on the dash? I searched around the site but can't find an answer. My brakes work great, maybe a little soft but not bad at all, so I can't figure it out. Oh and pulling the hand lever doesn't affect it. Thanks y'all!

Less Quick Question: I'm sure this is really common but after my jeep giving me no trouble for almost five years, it scared me this morning when I went to start it up. I cranked it and it would turn over and rumble a bit but wouldn't idle. If I kept my foot on the gas it would stay running but as soon as I got off the throttle it died. I ended up just keeping it running for about five minutes and then it idled and drove fine. I'm sure this is a common issue, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really apprecaite it!

Update: Bad battery was causing this, so if anyone else runs into it get it tested!

I've spent thousands at Rock Auto. Up here in Canuckistan locally is not an option for us non-millionaires. The aforementioned valve cover gasket ran me $78.

Low brake fluid, or that switch is ****y. Assuming you don't have ABS.

Fluid level looks good, I'll try and bleed a bit just to be sure. If I unplug the sesnor on the resevior the light goes off, so maybe that's bad?

I found the factory service manual for the 1995 and 1997, but not the 1996 (first year of odb2 so I guess the 1995 cannot be used for most eletronic stuff) and 1997 changed body style.

So does anybody have access to a PDF version of the 1996 FSM, or would I be fine with the 2 others depending on my needs? (for example, if I want to change a sensor, check the 1997, but if it's for a wheel bearing removal, look at the 1995, you get the idea)?

Thanks!
