Don't know jack about filters but look into removing the restriction tube thingy in the top part of the stock airbox were the intake tube connects though I have heard that will give you a little whistle

Will do. Also, I'm bust cleaning the iac. How do you guys go about cleaning inside the compartment that houses the iac? It looked like I could just knock out the torq screws but there is a little peg in the middle that prevents that.
Do I just do the best I can? Or is there an easier way?

throttle body cleaner? no need to take it apart (not even sure if it's meant to come apart)

Okay, I got the jeep up to "normal" operating temperature -- somewhere around 195º - 208º (depending on when the thermostat opens... forgive the newbness, they allegedly open at 98 ºC in Australia... which converts to 208 ºF). The fan didn't turn on. When the AC was turned on, the fan still didn't turn on.
I unplugged the temp sending unit on the thermostat housing and the fan started.
After plugging the temp sending unit back in, the aux fan kept running regardless of whether the AC was on or off, even after it cooled the engine temp below 210º with the AC off.
Is this indicative of a bad temp sending unit, or could this be caused by something else?

Okay Cleaned everything up reallll good and it runs WAY smoother. Not as good as I thought it would run.
The only problem is when the transmission is in Park or neutral I have a higher Idle RPM of about 1000-1100. Is this how it is supposed to run when cleaned? I have no Idea because the iac & throttle body were both pretty gunked up.
