still trying to track down a vibration on deceleration. I've asked about transfer case bearings and I'm set on rebuilding the TC, (got a slight lateral play at the yoke) but by looking around I also noticed about 1mm of play on my front driveshaft. is some play expected or it should be completely solid (I'm guessing the latter..)

here :

Hahaha! No worries. Yep, Wix 51515 and T6.

I assume that the Jeep is just telling me the oil filters getting full cause the oils cleaning things out. But thought after almost 2 years, it would be cleaned out by now.

I do a bit of highway driving if that matters.

That's weird. For fun, try the "standard" size WIX and see if you have this problem sooner.

I know, right? I can give it a shot. I'll have to figure out what the "standard" size part number is.

Maybe I missed it, but how many miles constitute two years of driving?

Quite a bit, 23k in the year and 9 months I've owned it. I drive 300 miles a week just for work. Currently at 81k original miles.

Just making sure it was a significant number

Default Does anyone know where I can get this part?

Hey all,
I am trying to retro an 89 xj Laredo. The cargo area has stainless steel carpet skids. I have managed to straighten them out pretty well but I am missing the black plastic endcap for one of the rails like you see in the picture.

Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks

-Kent

Try team Cherokee. They have a website and they have odds and ends like that. Maybe you'll get lucky. Or a junkyard.

Would seafoam in the oil help clean it out faster? Change after a thousand miles or whatever the bottle recommends?

I wouldn't run that crap with a load on the engine. In the driveway, maybe.

Adding a solvent to your oil is pretty desperate and can screw things up. Imagine a chunk of sludge getting stuck in an oil passage inside the crank.
