Does anyone know if the steering box from a Grand Cherokee will fit in an XJ?

I know 93 to 98 does and it's a quicker ratio.

Just did it a month ago. Bolts right in.

Quicker ratio. Forgive my ignorance but does this firm up the steering by getting more wheel turn per turn of the steering wheel?

Default 98 jeep 4.0 overheated now won't start

My 98 jeep Cherokee was leaking coolant and had all come out and drove to nearest gas station. Before I got to the gas station it started missing real bad and finally shut off. I put water in and let it cool down and it started back up but still missing bad. I drive it up road to friends house and there was water on the oil so we got blue devil to fix the head gasket Gil the weekend. Well we put if in and your supossed to let it run for 50 min but the jeep quit running half way though and won't start.it's getting gas and spark so why would it not start?

I would start by checking the condition of your spark plugs to isolate which cylinder you're getting your miss.

sounds to me like you cracked the head and it died because it either doesn't have compression or you ruined the bearing or both. Or maybe a blown head gasket or a warped head or all kinds of problems from overheating an engine then running it knowing it's leaking coolant into the oil.

Can anyone tell me if the Haynes manual has a good section about the air conditioning system? With decent pics/drawings? I want to remove it and make sure I get everything and nothing more.

3 turns lock to lock versus 3.5 turns. Kinda nice.

hey cruiser, I had saved this post of yours a while back to do when I do my next oil change. But, then I saw Salads write up on the Rotella T6. Should i use the T3 or the T6?

these are the basic parts to the a/c system on any vehicle.

Compressor
Condenser
Hoses
Accumulator
Evaporator

Before you go about just removing the parts, please get the system recovered(vacuumed/drained) it's harmful not only to you(to breath in) but the EPA doesn't take kindly to Freon being discharged into the air. I have been in the HVAC area of work in both automotive and commercial transportation for almost 10yrs, and freon is not a chemical that you want to breath in, it will make you pass out if exposed too long, been there done that.
