A friend of a friend who happens to be a mechanic/handy man came over to fix my friends car. He offered to help me with some minor stuff that I was having trouble with the doors of my car. He looked at my engine as well. He asked me where I get my oil changed at. I told him Jiffy Lube. He then pointed out the oil filter and there was a yellow looking glue/sealant. I decided to check underneath the car and sure enough the oil plug had the same yellow sealant on there. I don't know whether it's to keep those parts in place or if it's to stop a leak. He also recommended That I should replace the gasket at the top of the engine because it looked real oily and dirty near the screws at the top of the engine there. The next time I go to Jiffy Lube I'm gonna point these things out and ask whether I should be worried or not because I know now that it was them that put that sealant on there and if it's possible to take that stuff off. He also said that I should have my engine cleaned so that it's easier to find out where the leak is coming from. My real question is this; should I have my engine cleaned and replace the gasket at the top of the engine(Is that called the head gasket?) and will it be cheap?

Its gonna be your valve cover gasket. Relatively cheap and easy to do.
I recommend doin it.

they're a royal PITA to remove. There's a bolt in the bottom that's not too bad, but the bolt in the top is impossible to remove with the bumper on the truck. When i took mine off i unbolted the bottom, then just pulled them off the top bolt. A little messier but much easier. They don't need to be held on that well anyways IMO.

what kind of oil do you use. Iif full synthetic all the time thats a good chance why you have oil round the screws. Also if you never see oil under your rig it really might not be a leak. I uuse full syntec and get the same grime. Also jiffy lube will tell you prob to do those things to get money from you. But then again could be a chance you need a new gasket

I currently have a jvc 50 watt x 4 head unit and 4 6.5" kenwood 3 way speakers. The head unit is 22 watt x 4 (RMS) and the speakers are each 70 watt (RMS). I get a minor crackling popping sound when it gets to a certain volume level, anyway i talked to a car audio guy and he said i need an amplifier, do you agree? (ON A SIDE NOTE, I PUT THE STOCK SPEAKER GRILLS AND DOOR PANELS ON OVER THE SPEAKERS AND THEY MADE CONTACT WITH THE TWEETER AND MID THAT STICKS OUT OF THE SPEAKER. I havent been playing the speakers much though because I just put it in. Would that damage the speaker causing it to crackle and pop at a certain sound level??) Also, what wattage amplifier should i run.....not wanting to spend much money btw. Thanks

I have a quick question. Are the rear axle shafts supposed to be able to move in and out of the housing about 1/8" on both sides on an 8.25?
I had my jeep on jack stands and noticed that the shafts could be pulled in and out...maybe the c-clips are worn? or is this normal?

there's no reason you would need an amplifier. The speakers are rated at their maximum sustained/ max peak levels, anything less than that is fine. It they're cracking it's a wiring or ground issue, not anything to do with power.

In the distributer less 2000 Cherokee's the firing order is 153624 but don't 2 fire simultaneously? if so which ones fire together?

i have a question. sorry if its in the wrong thread but i need help. i went wheeling couple days ago, today i noticed that i have a pretty good leak. granted it does leak, not alot to notice or worry about. today i had a puddle bout a good 6in round, dipped my finger in it and its a purpleish color and i dont know what it is. and a good amount of oil drips that are coming from somewhere. any advise on what to look for?
