Rust holes are very common there. That crack, not so much. Weld it, or you could replace the tub. They aren't that expensive if you're willing to do the work yourself

I normally recommend Brown Dogs, but given the lack of options for your application, I have no problem recommending these guys. I wouldn't be afraid to run them myself if I didn't already have Brown Dogs.

Alright so I couldn't find a thread for weird noises which is weird because I've seen it before. Anyways I'm getting this rubbing noise for like a second when I let off the breaks, but it goes away when I give it some gas. Sounds like it's coming from somewhere by the wheels but I have no idea

Anyone got any ideas?

So am I. A good cooling system down here goes a long ways, especially on these shell rock and sand roads which reflect a lot of heat.

Top of Piston to Cylinder Head . . . . 0.80–0.89 mm
Piston Protrusion . . . . . 0.53–0.62 mm Fit Gasket
(1.42), 0 Holes
Piston Protrusion . . . . . 0.73–0.82 mm Fit Gasket
(1.62), 1 Holes
Piston Protrusion . . . . . 0.63–0.72 mm Fit Gasket

I know how to measure the piston in top dead center to the block surface to get the rigth gasket thickness and they give us all this values here ....but how do i measure the piston to check this 0.80mm to 0.89mm im not seeing ??? so lets imagine i have 0.72mm from top of piston to block surface and i know i will need 2 holes gasket but how do i measure to check the other 0.80 to 0.89 ? dont undestand this value here

Ok. Not that it's that critical unless you are having your block and head milled a good bit, but I have to ask is this why you are concerned about thickness? Of so, majority of head gaskets you buy at the chain stores are a little thicker to compensate for this. If you are doing a simple rebuild, a stock Fel-Pro gasket is fine.

I just realized how stupid of a question it sounds how I worded it, it's not the breaks making the rubbing noise 😂 it sounds wayyyy deeper of a rub (shut up you pervs) and I have no clue

Does the front drive shaft slip joint (the one with the zerk) rattle or clunk if there's no grease?

Trying to track down a clunk/rattle I get when going over bumps. Did ball joints (lowers were shot), hubs (driver's side was going) and front axle u-joints (both dry and due). Have replaced front sway bar bushings. Control arms look OK. Could probably use a tranny mount but exhaust pipe does not appear to be hitting cross member. Can't find anything by grabbing and shaking stuff or jumping on the bumpers

Was greasing front end and realized the slip joint had not been done since I've had the truck. It took a lot of grease. Thought maybe it could clunk or tap when the suspension flexes and the joint is moving in and out.
