Quick and incredibly dumb question. my brakes are now very mushy and have horrible stopping power my brake fluid is low (about 1/2-3/4" below add line) is that the only reason? I double checked my work and it looks like I assembled my brakes right but I want to make sure
Thanks

on how to bleed brakes??? Unless you have a one man bleeder kit it's a two person job.
Take the lid off the brake fluid reservoir. Fill it to the "full" line. Put the cover on loosely (not airtight).
Put about 1" of brake fluid in a clear jar (peanut butter jars work great). Attach a hose to the bleeder valve behind one of the brakes and put the other end inside the jar with the end submerged in fluid. Make sure it stays submerged during the procedure or you'll have to start over.
Open the bleeder valve and have your assistant slowly press the brake pedal to the floor and HOLD IT THERE. Close the bleeder valve. Have them let up on the brakes slowly. Repeat until no bubbles are seen exiting the tube when the pedal is pressed, and/or until the fluid runs clear.
Repeat for all 4 wheels. Check the fluid level in the reservoir once you have done one side (before you move to the other side). Fill the reservoir when you're all done.
