Anyone ever come across a clear dome light lens replacement for the 84-97 XJ?

Example is linked below, but for a chevy.
http://www.lmctruck.com/newparts/CD/CDDL1.htm

I'm contemplating having some made, but only if they don't already exist. Also, does anyone know if their dome and cargo lenses can be swapped? For some reason I feel like they can, but I honestly don't recall.

YJ question!
I found a hole in my gas tank, and I'm weighing my options.

1.
$330 replacement 20gal tank +shipping
http://www.gastankdepot.com/0065-pla...20-gallon.html

It's not an OEM tank, but it's advertised as equivalent. Other brands show the same tank with a higher markup on price. I would also invest in a better skid plate while it's down, which adds about $250.

2.
$1000 GenRight 17 gallon tank that accept YJ pump. It allows a 4-5" stretch. 1/8" aluminum and includes a 3/16" skid plate.
http://genright.com/yj-crawler-ext-g...-plate-17-gal/

3.
$700 GenRight universal 23 gallon fuel cell with provision for YJ pump and factory vents. Made to fit in the back of the Jeep and bolt to the fenders. Tempting because I want to stretch my wheelbase in the future when I get one ton axles. Don't need a skid plate.

So really, my question is this:
Why shouldn't I put a fuel cell (or that cell) in the back of my Jeep?
Keep in mind my tank has a hole in it and I want to stretch my wheelbase in the future.

when you go one tons. Are you gonna daily drive it? Or trailer only?

If trailer only, I would recommend into looking at smaller fuel cells (12 gallon).

I plan to keep it fully drivable so I have the option, even if it's mostly a trail rig. I've been planning to put a fuel cell there in the future, and this seems like a "might as well" time to do it. I just don't want to rush into the decision and regret it.

are you willing to give up the space in the tub for a 23 gallon fuel cell?

Yeah, I already planned for it. I measured, and I could still keep my subs. I took out the back seat

I figure I'll just run the hoses through the floor with grommets. Install should be easy, but I expected lectures about safety

Well, I guess I'll finnally admit defeat. The dreaded death wobble has once again claimed me in defeat. Let me start off what all I've done. New control arm bushings, new sway bar and links bushings, new steering box, new wheel hubs, new ball joints, new u joints, new/used track bar (with new bushing and oversized hardware), new/used ZJ steering upgrade (came off friends wrecked ZJ). I have no idea where the wobble is still coming from. With the vehicle in the air or on the ground, I can't find any looseness in the steering or track bar. Closest thing I can find is some roll in the draglink but the ends aren't loose. Wobble started one day randomly while driving. Never had problems with it before while going 75 plus on the highway. Then once the death wobble came, I couldn't get over 53ish mph. So, I replaced my control arm bushings, both wheel hubs, ball joints, and ujoints. All the other parts were done previously before I had death wobble. It wasn't till I lastly did the ball joints that I thought it was cured. But then today, I got on the highway (second time since the fix) and while going about 75, hit a bump and it came back. I'm all out of options. Any ideas? Thanks.

not loose anywhere, just the typical tie rod roll forward backwards. Also checked the track bar bracket for cracks as that has happened to me before in the past but saw none. I do occasionally hear a pop noise when offload turning etc. but I have no idea where from. Imp thought maybe it was the track bar jumping back and forth from a wollowed out hole but then again, I installed a new bushing with oversized bolt a good year ago.

Have a deal from a friend pop up. Can I swap my 1988 np242 with his 1998 np242? His has a Tom woods SYE and boostwerks linkage. But I wasn't sure if the spline to the transfer case are compatible.

if his jeep is a 4 banger then it's compatible. Otherwise it wouldn't work. (23 splines)

No. You'll need to swap input gears. https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledg...g-input-gears/

no he can't. The gear cut style change occurred in 1994. He ll need to find a t case out of 1995-1999 4 cylinder jeep and use that input shaft to install in the 98 t case
