Swapping a 98+ efan into my 91 XJ. Got a proper wiring harness plug from a member here. Problem is Jeep sucks at wiring, and the new plug wiring is clearly beefier than the stuff they used in 91. What should I do here? I'm considering going the "headlight harness" route and using the stock wiring as a relay trigger for standalone wiring.
I put the older square-blade style into my 2001. Much larger wiring on the fan than the feed from the harness. The wires do not get noticeably warmer during operation. If you're using the newest style fan with the curve blades attached to an outer ring, I believe they use less power. You should be fine.
(It's already off of a relay, in case you weren't aware)

Square-blade fan or the fancy curved one?

1995 FSM says a 20A fuse and 16 AWG wire. 2001 FSM says a 40A fuse and 12 AWG wire.
You will certainly want to build a harness for that thing. And I think I'm going to put that older fan back on the shelf and grab the newer style from my '99

I checked my FSMs and now I'm not so sure that my memory isn't backwards.

Didier,
The check engine light can come on for many reasons. The good news is that the engine computer knows why the check engine light is on, and it will tell you. You just have to ask it.
What year is your jeep?

Yeah, I know. Doesn't go on the road though.
Yes, the newer style is quieter and move more air. Not at all surprising if they use twice the juice.

will regular re-gearing kits work in an lsd 8.25? i'm looking into re-gearing soon but now that I'm building up a trac loc 8.25, I was wondering so before I look into buying something and having to return it because it doesn't work with my setup.

I've found several threads on this but nobody ever had an answer. No matter where I looked I couldn't find the OEM style A/C evaporator so I finnally broke down and order the typical replacment from RockAuto. How does everybody fit their thermistor n the new one? Do I drill a hole? I Dont want to drill in wrong spot, should I just put the thermistor so it's resting against the new vaporator instead of going through it? What does everybody else do? Not to mention, the new evaporator fits a bit looser than the old one.
