I was curious if ya'll could tell me how this wear pattern looks. It's the 4.56s in my 8.25. The d30 gears aren't worn enough to see a pattern.

Brake Booster check valve leak?
Hey all. Bogging down is the issue. Went to pop the hood when I took her for a test drive after replacing the radiator, hoses + cap,t-stat,water pump, and clutch fan. Air was coming from/into this blue brake booster check valve, exactly where the split is shown. Is this normal? I never noticed it before or had a problem with it. When I touched it to turn it, to see if the leak will stop, the rubber seal turns with it. Could this be the cause of the bogging down issue? Needs replacing? Thanks in advance.

That's a major vacuum leak.

Thanks Earl! Thats what I thought as well, just wanted to make sure. Well, here goes my first step into the brake booster journey. Wish me luck.
OK,I solved my interior lights not working, but now I have 2 more semi related questions:
1, what the hell is a passing light?
2, in the rear hatch of my 96 se, I have a black button on the light. that button will not depress or do anything, so I was wondering if it was supposed to, and if there was a simple fix for it? I tried taking the light out and looking at it but after getting the rings off, I couldnt get the weird black plastic piece off the drivers side and ended up reassembling it.

Just wanted to update y'all with my XJ. Earlier I said it wouldn't start and I had 3 or 4 codes showing by the turn key method. Check light went off and the code reader didn't read anything when I got to advanced auto. It had been running cold so I figured the thermostat was stuck open. Friday night I went ahead and replaced it and cleaned up the temperature sending unit while I was at it. Made a 2.5 hour trip Saturday morning then back 2.5 last night. Temperature was around 210 the whole time, ran great. Hopefully that fixed my problem, but wanted to give an update and say thanks again to everyone who commented and helped solved the problem.
No, I don't lick fish.
And thanks a lot I'll check that video out I'm hoping to do it over thanksgiving break only other question I got right now is that my heat is blowing lukewarm air. If I turn it on sometimes it'll blow warm for a few seconds if it's on full blast then it'll just go cold again. I can't find any kinda coolant leaks so I really don't know what it could be
#1 - are you running a thermostat in your Jeep? You should have a 195* thermostat in there to run at proper operating temps... AND make the heater work correctly. The thermostat keeps the fluid distributed evenly across the system.
#2 - if the correct thermostat is in place, check the blend door inside the heater box... it's possible it's out of adjustment or broken.
since my A/C is not working and I'm not looking to fix it, ever, is it possible to somehow remove all the lines going to the evap core for more access in the engine bay? for example I'll soon be ready to do my motor mounts, but the a/c stuff is in the way. so is there such thing as removing all the lines and leaving the a/c as an idler pulley basically?
some people talk about converting to on board air, I'm not really considering that but I guess in the future it might be a cool projet, so I also have to keep that in mind.

Im not seeing 3100 anywhere for the shocks, but I am seeing 5100. same difference?
And Im seeing a lot listed for lifted vehicles that *seem* to be the same length as stock...any ideas on stock lengths?

Awesome I'll be checking both of those this weekend. I'm also gonna be doing my first oil change in this jeep as I like to do that ASAP after buying a used vehicle just so I can keep tabs on it. I know there's a thousand threads on here about what oil to use but does anyone have any suggestions? It's got 148K miles on it and I'll be running a K&N oil filter. Thanks a lot!

What is this?
I need to know what part the hose in this picture is, so I can replace it. I assume it has something to do with my 4WD because of its location (front driver's side by the axle). Any help would be appreciated.

That's a vent for the differential, to allow it to breathe. You can replace it with any hose of the same internal diameter. Vacuum line is a good fit. As long as it's a dry day out, you can remove a piece and take it into the parts store with you.
