Help
Ok so I have a 96 xj with 150k runs strong till I hit 45 mph then sputters and loses power rpms barely go up same with speedo it only fixes when I let off or gun it. It also works when I tap the brake very lightly then it'll clear up till I let off the brake. I've adjusted TV cable. And will be replacing tps soon and will be checking tranny solenoids. Any other ideas I could check seems like it only happens at around 45 when the gear goes to switch. Any and all help is appreciated
Narrowing down the problem
So, while putting the Jeep in reverse and drive and getting on the brake (in reverse) and letting off the brake (from reverse to drive) the Jeep stalls. I usually have to rev up the rpm's to go from neutral to drive to have it stay running.
Then, while in drive, it will coast around 750 rpm like nothing is wrong, then it will jump up to 1500 rpm and speed up by itself. If I press on the brake, it will continue to stay around 1500 sometimes, and other times it will act like it wants to die. I'm guessing something with Air/Fuel mixture but do not know enough on where to start.
Thanks for any help!

So the rear wiper motor case around the shaft was salt welded to the nut and broke, got a new rear wiper module; is the jam nut really M16x1.00? http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/.../06502299.html
Fastenal's website says that doesn't exist...?
*more googling* Found it! Dorman 615-082
Even found something similar in stock locally not too expensive either: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/d...hfgaAsoB8P8HAQ
It's about twice as thick but I think it's going to work. It threads on anyways, don't have the wiper with me to see if it interferes with that. Works perfect!

No crank
Upon trying to start the jeep in park I got no crank. I know the clock spring is going but can this cause no start? I think nss, while jumping I hammered on the starter a couple times, cycled gears then thought to put it in N and start. It fired right up. Not sure what I did right haha.

No start in park is one symptom of the NSS needing serviced but usually the first sign is no back up lights. Next time it won't start in park try jiggling the shifter while in park and try and start it.

Well over time it will destroy the battery lowering the CCA. It could probably even mess with some of the vehicle electronics and sensors if you're alternators regulator failed and that's what's causing the overcharge.

Can an 0630 cylinder head be replaced with an aftermarket 0331 from Odessa (I believe they were previously clearwater)? Are there any differences between the two? I know the 0331 had the coil packs instead of distributors, so would that be an issue? Anything else?
If anyone knows where I could get a quality 7120 or 0630 instead, I'm all ears.

Not unless your definition of overcharging is such a high voltage that the battery has exploded or you burnt out other components. A normal trickle charger or smart charger won't overcharge.
Same issue as swapping the other way, you need to deal with the exhaust manifold ports. Not sure if you can just buy the adapter and put it on backwards lol. Ignition is only a concern when putting an older head in a newer vehicle.
That said there should be a couple million 7120 and 0630s out there...
