Yes, that's fine. It's very important that you do NOT have both axles connected to the transfer case if the gear ratios are different. If you leave the front DS out, you'll be fine

Hi! not trying to hijacking this - I could be in the wrong spot but I have a question about my 1991 Jeep Cherokee XJ Briarwood:

I recently bought a 1991 Jeep Cherokee XJ Briarwood. Pretty good condition with one previous owner. The only problem is female component of the drivers side seatbelt has a busted buckle. I'm looking into replacing it and I've found a few Front LH Passenger female seatbelt buckles on e-bay.

My question is can - I replace the Front LH Driverside Female seatbelt with a Front RH Passenger Female seatbelt? Or are they not interchangeable?

Yes, they are universal. The only obstacle with some of them is that the bracket they are mounted to might possibly be bent a different way. But I believe the driver's side and passenger side front seat belts are the same.

I've seen people who put a cone style filter on the end of the intake tube, this is something I'm interested in but I'm having trouble figuring out how to fasten the filter to the tube. I was thinking of using some 3" abs pipe but it's to big to fit in the intake tube. Any suggestions?

This is on a Renix intake tube, and I don't have the filter yet I've just been comparing possible "splices" to the filters at the store.

I'm not quite sure why you would want to do this, it's hotter air intake, and a lot easier to hydrolock the engine in water crossings.

Congrats on your hot air intake. You do realize you were making more power with the factory airbox?

3" PVC pipe would work just fine. If you use drainage instead of sch40, it wouldn't choke down the inner diameter at the coupling as much.

As said though, it would be hotter air unless you divided it off... and it's mor susceptible to water intrusion. Case in point, I had a k&n FIPK that I took OFF of my Jeep for this very reason. I don't notice any difference in power with or without the intake kit anyway.

I had a question also, anyone have Dana 60 axle swap pictures? I am about to take on the project and would like to see some pics. Close ups and pictures of the brackets and complete would be awesome! Thanks

Like I said "interested" in. Partially because I ditched my air box for a '93 air box and only too late did I notice that the Renix tube was ripped due to the '93 air box outlet being set back farther.

Why did I ditch the Renix box you ask? The '93 had a better flow to it hoses hooked up on the shortest side instead of wrapping under or around other hoses. Also I liked its way of opening better.

Anyway I currently have a shop rag with k&n oil on it as my makeshift filter after getting a new intake hose so as not to rip a hole in this one either. Problem with that is when the RPMs hit about 3500-4000 the intake hose collapses in on it's self causing me to stall until it pops back into place.

So, I'm looking at different methods to not have my intake hose collapse and have something a little different maybe it'll be hot air intake, maybe it'll be prone to getting water into it, maybe it's just temporary until I can get an air box or a better system on it, which is difficult since no body supports Renix equipment.

I would say junkyard as an option. Or buy an intake system. But if you want a cheap easy fix. I bought a jeep onetime and it hade a piece of metal tube slid in the air tube with a clamp and a filter clamped on the end. It worked, I took it off and put the air box back in, but it did work better than a rag!

Accordion style hose should resist vacuum collapse. Or use the 'spring in the radiator hose' trick.

Junkyard is not an option unfortunately, costs $10 to get in and while sure that goes towards a purchase if ones made its ****ing ridiculous, also last time I was there they had ONE Cherokee, a '99, that had been in for 4 days and was completely stripped.
I'd like to get a new intake system but as I stated Renix is not favored among aftermarket intake parts, I'll keep looking.

As for the hose collapsing, the accordion part does fine it kinda squishes together, it's the elbow that collapses right on to the TB.

hey I haven't read back on your conversation much, but if you're looking for an intake, I have a 2001 factory air box and k&n filter for sale for $25. Filter has like 6k on it.
