CB Antennas
Just snapped my Wilson 4 foot flex antenna. I was very pleased with the performance on and off the highway, but obviously I am very disappointed in the durability. I dont necessarily want to buy another wilson, so I am looking for suggestions as to what to try, and wondering what everyone runs for their antenna. Thanks!!

I've used nothing but Firestik on mine. I plan to try a Wilson next time, but only for the sake of comparison. Firestik has always been good for me

Currently have my carpet out. Should I tear that jute stuff off the backside of the carpet? Seems to have some rust infused in it where there was rust in my floor pans. I just put down peel n seal

Relevant to my 91 XJ: I am getting no power from the acc/ign wire at the factory radio plug. Headunit worked briefly a while ago. I removed it to run my backup camera wiring, and now nothing. Multimeter shows 12v at the battery constant (memory) pink wire. I get nothing at the green wire, which is 12v switched power. I checked the radio fuse and it's solid.
Is there a relay somewhere that sends power to the radio? Thoroughly pissed at the Jeep right now. Nothing is ever simple. Worst case, if I cannot find the problem, can I wire in new switched and fused power to this pin?

Going as far as you have you might just want to replace it. I'm getting ready to do the same thing as you to repair some passenger side rust, seal, paint, peel and seal and going to replace the carpet.

Nice job your doing.
Rebuild or no?
I have a 96 XJ with the H.O. 4.0. My camshaft splines are worn and therefore wearing the splines off my distributor. The way I found this was I swapped distributor, ran 2 minutes and died, pulled new distributor and the spline edges were already rounded off. Ok, camshaft swap with new timing gear/chain. My question is, since I will have that stuff out, would it be wise to just rebuild? I swapped the head last year and had it milled, but old valve springs and valves and the lot went back in. No engine knocking, lifter ticks or anything. Thanks

99 Xj dash lights
Hey, I have a 99 XJ and if I turn the dash lights on they will blow the fuse for my running lights, and vice versa. I have spent time after time replacing the fuses but finally gave up and just drive without my dash lights, which isn't ideal. Is there a simple fix for this or is it possibly a wiring problem ? Wasn't always like this, started a few months ago after mudding. Thanks for any tips !
