Do 99s have the secondary temp gauge in the back that feeds the dash while the front feeds the computer? Parts stores lend out those IR guns? I can pay someone to replace both for the price of the IR gun.

My temp gauge is fluctuating wildly while driving. Sometimes it stays at 195 like usual, sometimes it sits at 120, sometimes at 140. Think its the t-stat sticking or the temp sensor? Would the sensor throw a code I can have read?
Replaced my t-stat about 2 years ago so its pretty new. Stant Superstat Failsafe, so it could be failing open.

My ignition switch is getting increasingly difficult to turn. Well, that's not true. It turns easily once I get it to move but it is getting to the point that I might not be able to turn it at all.
Do I need to replace the switch, tumbler, or both?
I would really like to avoid having to get new keys made.

CPS question
87 XJ 4.0. Sometimes won't start. It'll fire every other time it sounds but won't start. I get it to start by unplugging the CPS, turning the key on and back off, plug CPS back in and then it'll start. I've replaced the CPS twice in the last 3-4 months. Could I possibly got a bad sensor 2 times in a row? Could something else be messing with the CPS?

Also do you have a lot of weight on your key ring?
