I experienced a similar issue with a water pump for my XJ. I looked up the MOPAR parts number and found one on Rock Auto. The blocks and water pumps for the 4.0 didn't change throughout the entire production of the 4.0 liter XJs and, in fact, all the parts numbers for the aftermarket water pumps are the same for the entire production span as well... but Rock Auto only lists the MOPAR unit as fitting the '00-'01 model years. SO when it came time to return the pump because the bearing went bad just a few months after installing it, the wouldn't honor the warranty because I installed it into a vehicle that the part wasn't listed to fit. Welp... they got me on that one. Even though it's bull****.

I think your best bet is going to be the automotive thrift store.

I know not to buy a turbo kit off ebay, but didn't know if there's a significant difference in quality between the no-namer above, and something like this OMIX one—same design.

http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....315943&jsn=437

My logic is that they can't be as bad as the OE ones that crackÂ…
They might crack. Some do and some don’t. It’s just a gamble.

i can't drive my jeep around while I fix my brake line, so today a friend gave me a ride to go buy a wheel cylinder. obviously even with double checking it ended up being the wrong part and is for the ABS version. Difference in bore is 3/4 for ABS and 13/16 for non-ABS (what I should have gotten)

can I still use it? I need it only to get my jeep driving so I can swap under it a new axle. thank you

On my '00 no. But I did keep the short line that came off the proportioning valve. Used 3/16" copper/nickel alloy and had to buy the adapter to connect a regular brake line fitting to that short piece. At Napa Part # WH 1441. No ABS buy the way.

got it thanks man

I just ordered this set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/95-01-Jeep-...72.m2749.l2649

do you reckon I'll need that adapter? I have no idea if this came with the short line coming off the prop valve. also I don't know if your prop ('00) is different than mine and requires an adapt?

also no ABS for me

No idea. But looking at that picture the brake lines that go from the proportioning valve to the master cylinder look to be included but not the 2 small lines under the proportioning valve.

Default 1991 Cherokee Laredo 4.0l 4WD Fuel Tank

Looking for input on purchasing a replacement fuel tank. Seen makers online like Spectra, Crown, and Dorman. There are a few others. Looking for quality at a good price. Anyone have any experience good or bad on purchasing a particular makers fuel tank? Thx

I've always used Spectra. Haven't been disappointed yet, but a word of caution: I sliced open my palm pretty good on the new tank for my Comanche because I didn't realize how sharp the edges can be on a gas tank

I don't see why you'd need to. All you're doing is replacing an OEM part with an OEM spec part, right?

x2 on that. After reaching in the hole a few times, I decided to put on one of those heavy duty 9mil nitrile gloves and "lube it" with vaseline. Still was a tight squeeze but didn't cut the **** out of my hands anymore.

That's a bit excessive. I'd have your gear lash checked.

Dang, now I need to find a good rear end guy (that's what she said) in a new town. I have a Spartan locker, will that make diagnosing the problem more difficult?
