Transmission problem

Lifted 4.5 Long arm total awesome but I have a little problem when I got the jeep I started it good it started then I put it in reverse ok cool it did as I instructed but then I put it in drive and had to dang sure give it gas to barly move... so I though this is weird so I put it all the way down into 1-2 and it moved at ease then moved it to 3 and still good as gold into drive he whole deal... why is it not moving in the selection of drive but will manually??? I have check the guess on the panel and checked some wires...

Hi I'm new here and really needing some advice.
i just purchased a 1993 cherokee country 4x4. I parked it for
a week and when I went to crank it the starter does not engage. I hear everything come on including the fuel
pump but nothing happens.
Things I have tried.
1. Put in neutral- no difference
2. Tested battery-full charge and hooked up a booster- no difference
3. Cleaned cables-no difference
4.( With key on) crawled under and used a screwdriver to short style start solenoid. Starter spins but did not kick out or
engage the flywheel.
is this normal
or
isnit safe to say inneed
a
new
starter?
i am 6 weeks
out from having shoulder and bicep
surgey so
anh helpmwould
be greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance.

Thank you for your reply. I will get one ordered. I have had a starter spin like this in the past but it would do so even when I turned the key. This one confused me because it literally does nothing when I turn the key only when I tried to short it with a screwdriver.

Something is wrong with my AC/Heater - it's not blowing air but it's trying!
Something is definitely blocking it. I can hear the fan whirring away but it's as if something is blocking the air flow. It happens when I'm traveling up hill, and then when I go back down hill it opens up again and a big puff of conditioned air fills the cabin. When it's blocked, the blower fan gets louder and sounds like it's strained, so I usually turn it off until I'm going down a hill and I turn it back on and it opens up.
What is wrong?????
It's a 1997, manual climate control.
When the air is flowing normally, the heater is nice and hot (A/C isn't operational to begin with), so this tells me that it might not be the "blend door". Right? Oh yeah, and when I turn the temp **** all the way to the right (heat) it makes a click. Is that normal?

No, I don't lick fish.
I tried doing a search as well as an advanced search and could not get any specific threads to materialize. Not sure if it is because I am using Safari or what. I need to get information on 1991 Cherokee 4.0L speed sensor and related parts. I own the original dealer shop manuals and I can not even find any information in them. The Jeep dealer wants to give me a speed sensor that does not look anything like the original.

OBD "Linking Error" on 1996 XJ
All,
I was trying to check for fault codes with a CENTECH Harbor Freight special on my 1996 XJ and all I get is "linking error". I tried it on my truck and two other Jeeps and it communicated properly with those vehicles. Any ideas?

No, I don't lick fish.
Do you have it set for OBD2? 96+ is OBD2. Early 80s models with the GM 2.8 liter is OBDI and 91-95 motors are OBDI...
