XJ Ask the Question Thread
94 v8 zj into 91 straight 6 xj
Newbie here. i have a 91 Cherokee limited inline 6 motor went bad. i bought a 94, v8 5.2 do believe. I wrecked it and the frame is bent along with other various things. Im curious on if i could take the v8 put it in my 91 xj trans and motor swap. put a 6 inch lift on it the lift id use would require a new trans mount anyways. what would need to happen any and all issues id run into. and a general price range. was gonna take some measurements in the motor mounting brackets but...my 91 is in another state at the moment. but got told it didnt change from 91 to 94. i do know id have to move around some things to get the motor to fit. but not sure about the 4 wheel because 91 is vacuum 94 all the time. just got told it could be possible for roughly 1500 to 2000 figured add another 1000 for other issues

You're talking about two completely different vehicles. Your '91 is a Cherokee, and your '94 is a Grand Cherokee. They have very little in common besides the front suspension, and it would be an involved swap
No, I don't lick fish.
Is more what better?

I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row to replace the bushing in my tail shaft. I have a harbor freight press. Can I remove the housing to press the bushing out with the press or do I need to use something else (not sure what) to pull the bushing out of the housing? I want to get this done this weekend and of course most places are going to be closed if something goes awry.
I want to get this done before I go on my honeymoon after Christmas. The one thing I don't want to be quivering is my Jeep!

All of these plugs are up in the driver's corner of the engine bay. I'm not sure what goes to where and it seems a few things may be missing. Any help would be appreciated. I think he cut these wires off to hook a switch to the fan but I don't know what the plug with the light colored wires goes to, there's another plug that's the same type that's red and black there too think this is the coolant temp sensor plug and I have no clue what's this relay holder? Goes to also, can I just buy a later model thermostat housing and use a coolant sensor for one of those with a full gauge cluster? I plan to get an open radiator and I believe those don't have the plug for the coolant temp? Any help is appreciated. It's on a 1987 comanche so renix system.

Eh, - - - I prefer 293.15K - Also that is ISO 'Standard Temperature' eg. chemistry, physics, engineering, esp measuring. Used to machine Aircraft parts.
MY Question:
What Control Arms do I have? - Anyone recognize these? ...I have a 2" lift according to PO (springs + add-a-leaf ... home trans-drop...)
BC - I need to replace lower control arms OR new bushings - if I figure out what these are :-/
And/ or if they stock length? ???
