check your ignition switch. if something is shorted or grounded out, it will heat the swich and melt it. it happened to me. its a potential that you haave the same problem as this guy..

Anyone know of a wheel repair shop i coudl send my busted wheel? the edge of the rim is got a chunk gone... don't really want to buy new ones

there are no wheel speed sensors on an XJ. If you're talking about ABS components then the system needs to be removed and the entire brake system replaced with a non-ABS system in order for your plan to work. The XJ ABS system is not compatible with the 9" rear.

I'm looking to buy some wheels. Pretty sure I need 15x8 for 31's. But my real question is what kind of wheels should I purchase? Steel or aluminum? Any preferences?

aluminum are lighter, but scratch/gouge easier than steel
15x8 is a good size for 31s

Actually, Dukie I see that you have some 235's I am pretty sure I am running the same size tire right now. You wouldn't happen to know what size wheel you have right now would you?
