Was scouring the engine compartment when I found this...

Could this be what is giving me the CEL?

I reattatched, but I dont want to reset the computer again.

O.k. guys give it to me. My rear outer bearings have been replaced. I still hear grinding in the rear. Is it the carrier bearings? Is it my pinion bearings? Help.

Not trying to hijack, but I could use a hand diagnosing my air conditioner.

The compressor does not even click on. I've heard that it could be low on freon (which means a leak somewhere) or a bad compressor clutch. I'd like to test my clutch but don't know what switch to jump, or where it would be. If anybody has a picture I would really appreciate it, that would be the best. This is a 92, so ya know, and thanks in advance.

Default what are these wires

so i just put some new spark plugs on my 2001 xj. this is the first time that i have done this on a distributorless jeep.
i am not sure if i accidentally unplugged something or if this was unplugged to begin with but i have a 2 wire harness (one white wire and one gray wire) near the coil rail harness and i dont know what its supposed to plug into. it has some print on it that looks like it reads:

B7921-H (the B may be and 8) not totally sure
2040-31

does anyone have a clue as to what this is? its a 2wd with no cruise control if that helps.

please help...

same here...i think it was code p1494 (evap leak) or something like that. mine needed new 90 degree elbow. the old one was cracked and ripped. i cleared the code and it never came back

Default Openable lift gate window for '96

Was there an option on any XJ that would fit a '96 for an openable lift gate window?

I had an early Bronco II that had one. It was handy when hauling long lumber or plumbing parts, etc. I still have the camper shell from my Dakota that I could take the back window from, if I can find someone good with fiberglass to modify the gate. I'd rather find one that fits, though.

Since my XJ is a 4x2, the mods I want to make are to make it more serviceable for me, instead of trying to trying to turn it into a mudder. My next one will be a 4x4 since I have use for one of those, too. And, I still intend to keep this one. One month into owning my first Jeep and I'm seriously hooked!

I have a 93 XJ with a manual tranny--what is the best way to get the new oil into the tranny? Also I need to replace my wheel joints--is it possible to replace them without pulling the hub? Many thanks in advance.
