Make sure that you have the right sensor, when I was solving my issue (believe we had the same problem on a different thread) I had replaced the sensor only to later find out the guy sold me the sensor for the dummy light dash, not for the actual gauge. So I would check again, and hopefully you were sold the wrong gauge.

Hey folks, this is my first post here, and I have a couple questions regarding my new-to-me '97 Cherokee SE.
First off, the Check Engine light is on. I was aware of this when I bought it. The previous owner had a diagnostic app on his smartphone that indicated the problem is with the 02 sensor. Could this be as easy as sourcing a new 02 sensor and replacing it myself? Or could this code indicate a number of possible problems?
My second question is about adding a roof rack. There are no rack/rails of any kind. Is it possible to have these installed? I would really like to be able to mount some kind of roof top cargo box for a long trip I am planning.
Thanks!

The PO did say that he already replaced the sensor at the exhaust, and that it's probably the sensor at the engine. Does this make sense?
