You mix 50-50 because the antifreeze doesn't remove heat as good as water but it does raise the surface tension and boiling point of the water.

It also lowers the freezing point of water as well as lubricating and preventing rust in the cooling system.

Running straight water makes the vehicle overheat easier and will cause rust even distilled water will still rust the system it just doesn't allow calcafication

Yes 1 gallon of antifreeze and 1 gallon of distilled water,

although mine used a little bit more then that so I ended up using about a gallon and a half distilled. Maybe cause I swapped lower Rad hose so it took more then draining from the radiator?

I wouldn't because full anti freeze will eat up your seals and what not in your cooling system that's why you add some water
correct everyone?

To bleed an open system I park with the Rad slightly up on incline, remove Rad cap and start vehicle let Tue car run till The thermostat opens at operating temp. I rev the motor a few times to get water flowing good and add water as needed. Sometimes you need to let it idle for awhile to get out all air.

Also sometimes I bounce the front end by pushing down on it a few times it seems to help.

This is answered at the top of the page, as far as running straight antifreeze it is a no-no unless maybe you live in Antarctica lol

Honestly if you did use tap water it really isn't THAT big of a deal, its just bad to do because it will allow the core of the radiator and heater core to calcify over time. Its best for long life of the parts to use distilled but honestly every used car has at one time or another had tap water ran in it.

The main thing is to run antifreeze. If you run plain water by itself younare asking for headaches.

Default Loose Steering on '97 XJ

So I recently purchased a 97 cherokee sport 4 door to replace my '04 wrangler as my daily driver. The cherokee runs mint and is very clean except for the steering. Its very loose regardless of speed. I checked the bushings and greased the front end, it did little if anything to help the issue. I have a whine from the power steering pump, but no real loss of steering power so I don't think its the problem. I am pretty sure this is a semi common issue with the cherokee but I didn't find enough information on a good way to troubleshoot and fix the issue. Any information or links would be great. Thanks.

Default window question

I'm sure this has been answered many times before, but search is not helping. Anyways, my passenger side window used to only work when operated from the driver's side switch most of the time (the passenger side switch only worked when it wanted too it seems), and now it has progressed to where the window will only roll down. To roll it back up I have to remove the door panel, take the cable off of the motor, push it up, then reattach the cable and put the door back together. Any ideas?

Window regulator. Or corroded terminals

^^^this might be issue but also try this have someone open passenger door and wiggle the grimmer connecting door to frame with the wires in it. As they doing that try doing window up and down. I hope for you it's just a damaged wire, something not to bad to fix

I checked the wires going from frame to door and they are all fine, and the terminals looked great when i had the door taken apart. I guess it is the regulator, i was just hoping for a less expensive fix.

So, what is the cheapest way to go about replacing it?

Rockauto.com .... it is a pretty easy swap. Just take note of how the regulator fits in there before you take it out.
