yep tried it from a foot away to right up against it still nada. I have seen in the forums that you use the lock button with the door unlocked, tried that, also the procedure posted earlier with the unlock button with the door locked still nothing. Chasing down other electrical issues today with the drivers door cluster of switches so maybe it will miraculously fix itself while I'm in there LOL

find the short/broken wire. Get out your multimeter and start probing wires for continuity.

anyone got a clue what size the nut/fastener things that hold the grand waggy hood ornament to the hood are? i dropped one of them taking the ornament off and it completely disappeared. iv been all over the ground and had my head halfway down through the engine bay looking for it, and its just gone. so, i need a replacement for the one i lost. any idea what i can use?

It also makes my oil pressure raise and lower a lot and also seems like it affects my shifting . This may be because the motor is running poorly

Default Anyone have a power window wiring diagram for 96 Cherokee?

My power windows won't work at all, I have pulled the drivers door apart, added a ground wire, checked all connections, checked for frays or breaks in the door, accordian hinge, kick panel, have jumpered the window lock out, and still nothing. The power locks work fine but nothing at all on any of the window switches. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you tried running a wire from each individual window motor, directly to the battery, reversing the polarity to see if the work up and down? I can't imagine all four motors being fried, but stranger things have happened, especially to XJs.

Thanks for the help! I actually figured it out after a couple of hours. I ended up running a new ground, putting a jumper in the plug for the lockout switch behind the kick panel and that still didn't work so on a whim I put a jumper behind the drivers door switches for the yellow and tan wires that go to the door lock out. Not sure exactly why it worked but it did so I put it all back together and left it! We'll see what the coming week brings. . . . .

No problem sir... Glad you got her figured out. Strange that the factory wiring isn't serving its purpose. I know how frustrating it is trying to map out all the wiring in these things, but I love 'em anyway lol.

my 95 cherokee stopped today, at the lights just cut out, turns out there is no spark.
I disccnnected the electronic injector and checked power with my test light, there was power as there should be. Would this rule out the Crankshaft positioning sensor?
I thought it would rule it out so I replaced the coil but it made no difference, I have power going to the coil but no spark coming out.
Do I replace the Crank sensor?
I have checked all the fuses under the hood but not inside. I also switched some realys around while waiting to be towed but made no difference. At least it was a sunny tee shirt day here in N.S. and I stopped beside a Tim's so it could of been worse.
Please if anyone has experienced this or similar issues please share your knowledge and save me hours of research and head scratching, this kiwi can not fly without a jeep

Does the filler neck go thru a hole in the inner fender? Where are the hose and wire harness routed? I don't see any of those. Thanks.
