The back twists a little but the front seems a bit sloppier than it ought to be.

The bad pcm code u got is common, I see it often at work. The pcm will need replaced. However it "usually" don't cause no start concerns. That sounds like poor connections at battery.

There are MANY things that can cause that code to pop up, if you're replacing PCMs because of seeing that you're wasting customer's money.

That code means the code reader can't communicate with the PCM. Yes it could mean the PCM is bad, but like I said that's VERY rare on these trucks. Usually a bus error is caused by a faulty crank sensor (CPS). They're cheap so I would strongly suggest replacing that first if you're having starting/running issues. Also check the connector at the PCM for a good connection.

I've also heard backing out the screws below the connectors a couple turns has solved issues for some, so it's worth a try also.

some rotation is normal due to gear tolerances in the differential and TC. Check the ujoints by twisting the shaft with one hand on each side of the joint. This is where there should be no movement.

Ive been a Chrysler Dodge jeep master tech for 10 years. I know communication problems when I see them. I thought the code he had was a P0601 pcm internal controller failure. That is a bad pcm no way around that fact buddy. I don't waste customers money. I am a professional.

well that's good then - just too many mechanics shops change parts till something works and disregard a proper diagnosis. I didn't mean to offend you

Thats ok man! Your just lookin out for a fellow jeeper. I know all to well about those "mechanics" that are just a parts installers. It takes a true "Technician" to diagnose a real problem not just guess!!

Ok guys with this cps test does the engine have to be running? The wifes jeep won't start when hot. If this tests out I will move on to replacing the injectors as it may a heat soak issue.

Default NSS removal issue

Does anyone know a good trick to cut the (remote) cable tie raps on the NSS!? Can see them, but cant get to them with anything (and the NSS threads are not dealing with this..)
Its the only thing keeping me from replacing it, and I'm NOT taking it to a shop for that...
Any advice?
