IIRC from my manual, the only "cross-application" fluids are ATF in the automatic transmission and transfer case, and brake fluid for brakes and clutch.

Ok here goes....awhile back my xj started high idling (2k-3k) when i started it. Sometimes it would go down instantly sometimes it could take two blocks. I replaced the iac and tps after i fully cleaned the tb. It fixed it for 8hrs. Tonight i drove it from work to home (6 miles) at 3k rpm it wouldnt go down period......any suggestions? Would pulling my mj computer and trying it in my xj be a good start or am i missing something easy
Edit: or is it possible i got a bad replacement iac

It feels like my aw4 trans in my 89 jeep xj is not choosing the right gears. It feels sluggish. i disconnected the tcm and it shifts well manually but i don't get second. i guess that because the tcm has to tell it to shift since you don't move the selector for 2nd. I checked my tps i got a ratio of .82.

If im not mistaken just like the newer models, the 94s normal temp is 210. At 215-218 the efan kicks on til it goes back to around 210. The clutch fan is constantly on and when you go fast it spins fast so your jeep cools down and likewise in traffic, stopped, you'll see your temp guage go up slowly then down. Not saying you dont have Any issues however this is normal what I just explained
hmmm. Then I might not have any issues.. I spent alot of the day yesterday in traffic and since I didnt know what the NOT was I was a little iffy. when it went past 210(the very edge of the hash) I turned the heat on full blast. I didnt want to take any chances. I'll try out today giving it a chance to hit 215-218 and see if the efan kicks on and it kicks the guage back down. thanks guys.

I have never had a jeep before and i figured i would ask to see if this ones worth fixing, the guy is sellig it for 600 its an 87 and he said it wont start but the headlights and everything work just nothing in the cab, all the searching i have done leads me to think its the inginition swicth but could it be more complacted than that and if so how much more, other then that he said it ran good until 2 weeks ago, i just dont want to buy somthing that might never run again
Electrical problem
My 98 Cherokee Classic just started acting crazy. I noticed a couple of days ago that the radio would cut out when I operated the power windows or A/C or headlights. Then it stopped running while driving down the road. It will start now but will only run for about a minute or so and then stall. I pulled the alternator and had it checked at an auto parts store and it was OK. I also checked the ground wires that run from the block to the firewall and they look OK too. I think it might be the brain. How do I go about checking the brain without having the Jeep towed to a repair shop? Any other advice is greatly appreciated. I need this vehicle to run.

So that being said, I went to parts store and tried to buy automatic transmission fluid and was told not to. They don't sell mopar power steering fluid. So what should I use? Should I just use regular power steering fluid? Or is there a brand? Or should I be using one of those synthetic honey things? Help me out here guys?
Not the Resistor
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee SE, 6 Cyl. 4WD, Automatic with a blower problem. Yesterday when I turned up the fan speed I noticed an odor from the vents like hot plastic. Today no smell is detected but one of the fan speeds does not work Low, 2nd, and high work fine with no unusual noises or odors but the third speed does not work. I have read that if the resistor is bad only high speed works. Any thoughts as to which of the three might be the the most likely cause or had a similar experience and fixed?
