It usually works from the drivers control. Today I put the passenger window down a few inches using the drivers control. Then when I tried to put it up nothing happened. Open and closed the passenger door and then I was able to put the window up with the drivers control. Still not action from the passengers side control.

What do I look for when I remove the passenger door panel.

1999 Cherokee Sport.
I'm gonna guess the wire is frayed/severed in the dust boot (the black accordion thing) between the body and the door. It's common for front door speakers to fail because of the wear over time on those wires, so it may be the same problem. I say that because opening and closing the door helped.
It's also common for the window lock switch on the driver's panel to fail, and that causes the other three window control buttons to stop working. There are a few write-ups to fix that. I blew mine out with compressed air, and it worked, but that isn't a common fix.

Hey guys,

I've been glued to the forum for the past couple months and I'm looking at buying my first XJ soon. I found a nice 99 sport 4.0 4x4 5 speed. Its got 164xxx and is in great mechanical shape. The only problem is that there is a pretty bad rust spot on the roof about the size of a fist and a few other surface rust spots but as far as i can tell its only on the roof. I'm pretty ambitious about taking on any project but i'm not quite sure if this is worth it. I wont have access to any welding equipment for the next couple months. any suggestions?

Default Lift kit question.

I brought home a 1998 Cherokee Sport today. It is lifted and has what appear to be 35" tires on it. Only problem is that I have no idea who made the kit, what type of kit it is, or anything about it. The front shocks need to be replaced because the wear pattern on the tires have high and low spots. I will post some pictures of it today and I would appreciate any help that you guys can offer.

I just converted my 88's closed cooling system to the 91+ open style. Snagged a CSF 2-row radiator, goose neck with temperature sensor and the heater hose/control from the local junkyard. Got everything hooked up and ran it a couple of days. Problem is, it's running slightly hot. Right now, it's about 50*F outside. Anyone know why it could be running hotter than suppose to be? I'm guess it's running hot because my aux. fan kicks on after it warms up in idle. It's got a new thermostat (about six months ago), new water pump and fan clutch (also six months ago). What else could cause this?

Did you put fresh coolant/ distiller water mix, did you burp it after install, did you double check the stat is opening like it should.

Edit: oh and did you put enough coolant in by adding some ten starting jeep till stat opened and added rest. I believe it's 1.5 gals coolant and the rest distiller water, someone can easily correct me on the amounts

chopped tires are caused by bad ball joints and poor alignment not bad shocks

Lol good luck. Keep some coolant with you if needed or warm water, to pour on engine of needed. I'm sure you'll be fine though brother

Jeep idles terrible. When you rev then let of the gas the RPMs go way down and the whole Jeep starts to shake and sounds like it's dying for air and sometimes will die. What is this problem?

Default 2000 XJ Electric Radiator Fan Issue

Hey,

I have a 2000 Cherokee with Inline 6 cylinder 4.0L engine.

My electric cooling fan doesn't turn on when I use AC or when it gets hot. If it is summer time and I am stopped for long periods of time it starts to get too hot. I have verified that the cooling fan relay is working properly and that all of the connects to the relay are good. (Power). The ground for the control side of the relay however has 60-70k ohms of resistance between the relay connection and the battery. I know that the PCM provides the ground but I am wondering why this resistance never goes down. I verified the cooling fan request wire from the high pressure switch for the AC is ok.

Any ideas or similar issues I would appreciate the help!

What year was your jeep again. The easiest thing to do is clean the IAC

Mine quit working and left me overheated on the trail I hit it with my "forget me stick" and haven't had a problem yet lol
