Could very well be. Have tire shop check front two. Process of elimination. Did you yank around on your track bar and other steering components to see if anything obviously loose?

Another simple question, need help figuring out which pulley is making my jeep sound like it's got a turbo that spooling. How do I go about checking them without ripping everything apart?

I have a 99 xj with cracked head lots of water in the oil the only motor i can find with low miles is out of a 00 with a coil pack set up, would i be able to get rid of that set up and stuff my distributor in there without problems it seems like it would work to me but i would like to know for sure before i spend the money on the engine

If the bottom end is still good just swap the head out. Its way easier.

Loosen the belt and start turning pulleys see what's not spinning good.

It's those side markers, though.. you'd at least need to cut out for them, if you wanted 'em. But, I guess you wouldn't absolutely need to have them.. just no one could tell you were turning from the sides. Heh.

Default cabin air filter

Does my 97XJ have a cabin air filter, that needs to be replaced?
If yes, how do I get to this filter?

Side markers are actually in the headliner assembly, not the fenders.

No cabin air filters on an XJ I'm afraid. You could probably fab one up if you really wanted to, the fresh air intake is under the passenger side cowl between the hood and the windshield, under the wiper arm. Be a royal pain to change though
