i just went through replacing all of my steering components trying to get rid of all the play i had. (1/4 turn of play at the steering wheel, real bad) That sounds like play in your steering box. But i dont think 1/16 of an inch is anything to worry about.

Anyone know the bolt amd Nut sizes for the stock front and rear bumpers, putting my aftermarket ones on and anticipating a lot of broken bolts

i believe they're 5/16" X course thread, but they use speed clips, which will probably break way before the bolt will (mine did) leaving you with a spinning chunk of sheet metal...i'm not sure what size the holes are

did you get new frame tie in brackets for the bumper? If so the stock bumper supports probably won't be used.

just for reference here's what the stock stuff will look like when you take the caps off

I got the bumper from little Leonard, if that helps, I believe those are the bolts I need, I just assume I'm going to break them or cut then off because that's how everything else has gone haha

haha...oh man...

hate to break it to you man, but your year jeep does NOT have on board diagnostics, thus no PCM port and no ability to use a scan tool (RENIX engine management system).

Sorry you have to use old school manual diagnostics and your brain to diagnose problems on your jeep.

Default Caster Adjustment

Do i need an alignment after adjusting lower control arm length....i'm trying to find a sweet spot for the pinion and castor angle.

Thx.

Maybe just the drag link, when you adjust the caster it will bring your drag link either forward (Adjusting the Lowers shorter) or back( adjusting the lowers to be longer) measure the distance between the inside of your front tires before you adjust the arms and make sure that stays the same, that will make sure your toe doesn't get messed up when you adjust the axle. If it does get misaligned, once again bringing the drag link back into normal geometry should set it right again

Default Engine Compartment Deminsions 86-01?

Was there any changes throughout the XJ's production run where the engine compartment was changed as far as width between the wheel wells?

I've got a '97 Sport. I know it's a goofy question.
