You are referring to the hose with my finger on it correct? The other one will do no good with out the t-stay open right?

take the thermostat out of the housing to flush it, and use a inlet the top small hose, with the rad cap (or lower rad hose) open. This will backflush the system

question...have you tried revving the engine in park? A lot of XJs have intake/fuel injection whistle at low revs

it may come back...it may not...

RIP two alternators so far....(damn you jeep for putting them so low...)

Yea I was lazy to edit my post I saw I should give a disclaimer. If he just splashed water he should be fine.

yea it didnt come baCL=/. I BOUGHT A NEW ONE FOR 135 AFTER THE COOR CHARGE. works great now

Well guess I lucked out after the hurricane, not to rub it in . All in all I need a new one too soon

hello, my question... is it possible to remove the axle shafts from the wheel hub slap it all back together and drive with no 4x4. thanks

Not quite. The hubs require the outer part of the axle shaft to be bolted in to hold the bearing together. You would need to remove the u-joint and bolt the outer part in. You would also want to create a plug for the axle tube to keep the lube in and the road grime out.

I went through the same thing. Bought a no rust 2wd 4dr with an excellent body. Converted it to 4wd.
Unfortunatally the transmission has to be taken apart to swap out the main shaft. But, the 4wd version is more plentiful than the 2wd and I find them all the time for $100. So just overhaul the old one or buy a low mileage used one. The AW4 runs for 250k+ miles if they are halfway taken care of.
The 4wd conversion is plug and play, super easy. I might do another one and sell it. lol! I bought mine for $300 bucks and the conversion was about $480 from the U Pull It yard and Craigslist.

I went with Fat Bob's Garage. He is on Ebay too, but you can get the same deal at his site. 3 inch spacers with shackles for $89. The shackles are pretty good. I bought Pro Comp 2.5 inch rear leaf springs ($200 Total shipped from TruckProUsa) with the shackles set at the 1.5 inch hole I get a perfect 45 degree angle on the shackle.
