how i did it on my '94 Just reach up between the fan shroud and the aux fan and feel for the metal rod that runs along the bottom of the hood. Push it side to side and it should release. I had a issue where the release cable came out of the brackets so it didnt do anything. Check to see if your cable worked it's way out of the metal bracket that holds it in place.

A/C Hose Line Help!!
I recently purchased a new A/C hose for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and the install went smoothly. However, as I was charging the system (of course after vacuuming it) the high pressure line by the quick connect coupler blew out. I was pretty sure it was in secure but I went ahead and reattached it but did not hear any clicks or anything to tell me that it was definitely locked in. I am able to pull it out by hand, which no doubts means it will blow again. What am I doing wrong here? Am I missing a piece? The coupler I am talking about is the high pressure line that runs from the compressor to the front of the jeep; it's blowing out from the front insert. What can I do to insure that it holds? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really, really, need a/c. Thanks!

Quick question, the button on my roof rack bar is stuck and I can't move them...I've tried pounding it with the back end of a screwdriver, a hammer, and then a hammer steel rod....with no success. What is the best way to remove it, I've run out of ideas other than getting a freaking hacksaw, grinder, or saws all and just cutting the SOB off

Ok guys my jeeps a little different. I race my jeep in a very competitive race in my area called stock tuff truck. Rules are like this, v6 to v8 stock motor. May be a refreshed motor and may have any bolt on as long as motors not modified. So.... I have a 91 HO jeep cherokee. Mother trucker would scream straight factory. But... I just put a 99 model intake on it (with 99 model power steering pump), new plugs, new plug wires, new distributor cap, new rotor button, new fuel pump, new fuel filter. Since this its been one prob after another. After a long night at the track last night, its running again and faster than ever! (Thank God.) So... What can I do that's a bolt on to make this jeep unbeatable? I have a great lift and suspension so I only need motor advice. Im still running factory injectors. Lets hear it jeepers! HELP.
Hey Ol'Blue, yes I did. I used it to disconnect it but did not use it to reconnect it. Now that I am looking at the photo, am I right to assume that I need the tool in order to get the spring to attach around the pipe? Also, what is that pipe it connects to? It's not the radiator is it? Thanks for the link!

I think they make bolt-on turbos for the 4.0 but I'm not sure if that would count as a "modification". With the intake and exhaust changes ol'blue and suggest that should improve things right off the line where the 4.0 is great, but top end power sucks as I'm sure you've noticed lol

(I'll add this since I see you only have 4 posts here - talking about removing cats on this forum is very bad. Just avoid the subject)

Can anyone post a pic of a 91 HO w/ a 99 intake on it up close for me? I can't figure out where I should put these vacuum lines.
HELP
I have a 97 JGC 4.0L just won't shift properly. I can drive on local streets with no issues. When trying to speed up won't shift into OD and can't exceed approximately 45mph. When pushing the gas pedal down more will start to spit and sputter really bad slowing the vehicle down. Also loses acceleration when climbing hills. Any help?
