Yup springs are the same all the way around. Have fun getting the bolts out on your 88!

Not sure about the windows, though. The generations are roughly grouped 1984-1986 where the GM 2.8L V6 showed up, 1987 - 1990/91 (RENIX with the I6 4.0L), 91-ish through 94/95, 95-ish and 96 introducing a new steering wheel and ODB2, and 97-01 with 2000 and 2001 being a bit special. For the most part stuff within those years are interchangeable without modification.

I'm still shaking at 50-55 mph after 3 balances and an alignment. What am I overlooking?

I'm not sure, I would go around and check to make sure bolts are tight: control arms, track bar, leaf springs plates, etc. Someone else may be able to chime in.

trackbar and tie rod ends are suspect. Also one of your hubs could be on the way out.

Default Thanks for the help

thanks very much. There are a Couple mid to late 90's jeeps at the nearest junk yard that i go to , they said they would sell me a pair of springs and take em out for me too, all for 200 a pair. From what you say about the bolts i probably should have a shop install them. If i can find one that would. Most places around will not install used parts to cars especially if you provide the parts.
Even tho i know i only need one, i am going to do the pair of springs because I am told that the LTD model had one less lief in the springs to make for a softer ride.
I guess i am SOL on the Windows for now. When i do find them , what do you think a fair price for 4 used units would be. The two yards around here are always into haggling over price. They usually start off high.

My Dad bough this jeep second had from a dealership on a leas trade in, back in 1990 and as for the Engin, My jeep was rolled in February of 93 and the dealership replaced the roof with a new one and Swapped out a used engine from a 92 that was totaled in a rear-end collisin. They said it was a better deal and the insurance paid for it all .
And i think that's why people always think I have the wrong emblems on the side, because it says 4.0 High Output.

If I get it in the air and try to move these parts by hand; would that help find the problem?

Ok good to know. The tranny is already out of the jeep but what I believe to be the dipstick tube is broken. I am not around it now so no pics but it is near the front passenger side. Is this where it is located?

If you are paying $200 for each leaf then please buy them new, you are getting ripped off. And even if it $200 for the pair, you should look into new ones anyway. That way you know they will be fresh and you will only end up paying a little more. Also, don't forget to look up bushings, bolts and u-bolts. I believe that those are all usually replaced at the same time as well. Can somebody back me up on that?

As long as I can do it in my driveway with hand tools i would but it was suggested to me that the bolts are typically rusted on and may not come off. I don't have a cutting torch nor air tools. I don't want to find myself stuck halfway Into the job where i cant finish it. I would get fined where i live if i had this on jack stands on my driveway more than a day. My town changes allot in the last ten years.

Its $200 a pair for them to take em off and give em to me. I don't know how I would pull them in the junk myself or how much cheaper it would be if i could.

Can you or someone tell me whats a good price to pay for used springs? .. I see people on here parting out jeeps all the time and sometimes they are not too far from me .

$200 for a used set of springs is truly not a good deal. I'm about to order a brand new set of ProComp rear leafs, for a 3.5" lift, plus new u-bolts shipped to me for about $220.
