So if I get some fog lights all I need is to plug into this and they would work from some switch that I don't have?

Ok so running a fire call earlier, my passenger side rear tire slid off the road while making a right turn while accelerating hard. I heard the most awful grinding noise coming from the rear of the xj for a split second... I continued on to the fd and never felt any slipping or more grinding or anything. What are the chances i need some new gears? Before i drop the cover and inspect.

So I'm going to replace the head gasket on my 98 XJ. What is the best place to get the gasket/what is a good gasket to get that I won't have to replace in a year. I'm sure there is a big differential in what I can get. I did some minor research and saw that Autozone has a head gasket kit that has all of the gaskets you need when you replace the head for like $99 but I also know that most of what you get there is junk.

Anyone have any recommendations or advice?

I havent heard a straight answer yet about this.
what kind of auto tranny fluid for a '94 sport 2wd 4.0?
ive been told by several people atf +4
and several people to never never use atf+4 but to use dex/merc....
so, what kind of fluid? and whats the difference/negative outcomes of using other fluid?

Look on the dip stick. If it says +4 use +4. If it says dex/merc use that.
Have you looked at the dip stick yet?

Dex/Merc for AW4 transmission. ATF+4 has been known to cause slipping

New to XJ and CF...
Searched my heart out and for the life of me could not find a write up on how to do a interior swap on a 97+. I am swapping from Grey to TAN, anyone know of a write-up? All I have been able to find is how to swap 97+ into pre-97.

Thanks,
Mick

I guess just get the tan parts and replace them how you took the Grey ones off.

Default Rattling/clinking over bumps

My 1989 xj 4x4 is making a weird sound as I go down my driveway over the washboarded section full of small bumps. It almost sounds as though someone tied a key chain or something to the front wheel. (no its not my keychain in yr ignition, I have just the key in it). I've noticed this problem on my truck as well but can't figure out what it is.

It's a high pitch ringing/rattling/clanking. Drivers side I believe, and like I said, reminds me of someone shaking a keychain full of old metal keys.

Thoughts?
