It's a high pitch ringing/rattling/clanking. Drivers side I believe, and like I said, reminds me of someone shaking a keychain full of old metal keys.
Thoughts?

Anyone know if the filler neck is the same on the XJ as it is on the MJ? I'm having a hard time getting useful search terms on Google.
EDIT: Looks like they're the same. 4WD.com lists both applications for their OEM replacement.

I need new shocks I'm at stock height but I'm planning on getting a lift within a few months. Can I just buy the shocks for 2.5-3.5 lift now or won't they work at stock height?

they might, but you'll bottom them out over every bump. Best wait to throw them on (aka deal with the ones that are on it for a few months)

Or just get a true lift kit now instead

Transmission output shaft seal.
I have a couple of questions, this is my first time doing this job and the Haynes sure didn't help much.
1. Is the gold looking metal part part of the seal?

2. What the hell is this round spring that came out? It looked like it was just sitting in there behind the seal?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Pouring rain, very humid, and sputtering on the highway. Gas gauge is pegged way past full and it stalled out twice. In a parking lot waiting for my friend who is a tow truck driver to come tow it home. Wtf is going on? I'm thinking fuel pump? Fuel filter isn't too old, and I put Seafoam in a couple months ago. There is a leak on the top part of the tank (slow leak when full). Could that create unsavory happenings in the tank that could create intermittent fuel delivery?

Add an inch
I've got a 1999 jeep cherokee and it's got a 3 inch skyjacker lift. I want to add an inch to my lift. What's the best way to do that?
