Default ?bypass A/C condenser?

fixing damage done by Bambi ... Is it possible to bypass (plug up in-lines and remove) the A/C condenser and leave the spot empty until able to afford to replace it??? Or do I absolutely need it to drive?

You need to get a bypass pulley, or by some miracle, find a smaller belt and different routing for your serpentine

Well depending on year, you can get a bypass pulley from a non AC xj in a junkyard. Or order online. Not many people make then so I think price is pretty standard. What year is yours?

Oh and I was kidding about a smaller fan belt, you can't do that lol.

Here's a good sample of the bypass pulley. Just to get you started on shopping for the cheapest.

They usually are expensive, even the refurbs. What's wrong with your current one, did it get smashed when you hit bambi?

oh yeah!! the grille and center support of grille support got mashed into it and it's got a good V bend in the center and at least one puncture... straightening it out would most likely break it :/
got it and the radiator out and have new radiator but it's not only my fun monster it's my daily driver!!

Default AC Bypass pulley.

I just put a bypass pulley in mine from Napa for $40 or $50. Seems to be pretty good quality even with the "made in china" stamp.

It does not look like anyone makes them for '90. You'll have to get one from a non AC Cherokee from the JY.
