Alright all the wrong info was givin. Take out your condenser and leave the pump how it is. Your pump won't run with no pressure in the lines and you don't have to worry about anything going wrong. You don't need a bypass pulley. If your that worried about it running unplug the power wire to the compressor.

i own a 99 Cherokee sport and just had the 4.0l rebuilt and did my swap. the new motor spins but will not fire. i am getting fuel to the rail and pulse to the injectors im just wondering if i have everything plugged back in right since i was stupid and didn't label anything. if anyone might happen to have a diagram of what goes where it might be super helpful.

So my belt on my 88Mj popped off the PS pump again.....I've noticed that my Mjs power steering isn't quite as good a the Xj of almost the same year. Could a bad pump cause the belt to pop off? Would running up to 4500rpm 1st thru 3rd do it?

sh** like that can be hard to find, my suggestion is to start the engine and shake the wiring harness real hard, this will check for loose/damaged wires as well.
also, when it wont start, check it for fault codes.

i have tried that already i will look at that more closely i do not have a check engine light on but when it dose do it and it comes on it only says o2 sensor but it will go off if i turn off and restart the engine.. got me stumped
turn the key from OFF to ON 3 times and then leave the key ON, the red check engine light will start flashing, and you count the flashes, theres a chart around here somewhere that shows how many flashes mean what.
4.0L ?

Battery Cables
I need to buy new positive battery cables for my 96 xj sport. I'm having a tough time finding the cable I need on the internet. Probably because I don't even know what it is called. But it is the cable that runs from the battery to the starter. I don't know what to search for.
The only thing that I have found so far is this. http://custombatterycables.com/appli...kee_cables.htm
And it seems kinda shady though. There is a lot of "maybes" in the descriptions.
I believe there is a little green wire that runs along this cable? I'm not to sure about this though. I have never dealt with this before.
And I know I need a new wire because I have traced my starting issue to this. I sometimes go to turn it on and only get a click. I have power and everything. I wiggle the battery cable and it fires right up.
