Default Front DS bolts

I have all the bolts off of my front drive shaft (after I snapped one of them because I forgot which way was left ) bot now I can't fully remove it to take it down. I have the tc end off but the side near the axle housing isn't budging. it isn't connected by any thing else is it? just the 4 bolts on each side?

Haha, well that was good advice. And I looked at it and it must have just been set in there good. But I have good news and bad news. Good news os that by yanking and pulling I realized that I didn't need to take it off anyways. Bad news is that it is a different joint making the racket. Here are some pics. Is this part just called a wheel joint?

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-un...herokee-xj.htm -Figured it is called the wheel joint. used this as my reference

Default Replacing wheel joint

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/ho...ana-30-a-3689/

This seems like an all day project... Is it recommended to replace both at the same time? Or just replace the u-joint I'm having issues with?

u-joint. And it's not that hard - few hours. You'll need to pull the wheel, take off the brakes, take off the hub nut, and take off the hub bearing. Then you can pull out the shaft and press out the old ujoint, and press in the new one. I just use a big bench vice and a hammer, however a ball joint c-clamp kit works well also.

I like the brute force joints from Advance Auto. Throw it in the freezer for a few hours before changing it - it helps to get it into the axle.

No need to replace both at the same time - just replace the blown one.

put jack stands on the body and let the axle droop as much as possible,
my buddys jeep is lifted 5.5" and we didn't have to jack it up to get the pan off

Default 2001 cherokee wont start

My wifes 2001 cherokee failed to start yesterday while shopping, this is her main vehicle, 110,000 miles and used every day. It cranks over like crazy, but does not fire, no sign of life. I switched fuel relay and checked fuses. Fuel pump makes noise when key is turned on. I sprayed starting fluid in manifold and engine fired and ran poorly for about 10 seconds. so I figured it must be a fuel problem. Gas squirted out of the valve on injector rail. I put gas into the intake manifold and nothing happened, no firing. I sprayed ether again and it fired for a second or two. Any ideas? I'm in my 60's with fairly extensive mechanical knowledge, really tired of multiple fuses and relays for a fuel pump. Thanks, I hope this ends up somewhere appropriate, I searched last night but couldn't find the right answers.

Throwing any codes? Sounds like if you got fuel in the rail may be an injector issue?? Is the rail Being pressurized or just leaking out?

I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe clogged injector/s? Time for a injector upgrade!
