A Durango box with 35s will definitely put you in that area unless she'd a pavement princess lol
Air Conditioning Problems
I hope i'm doing this correctly. I'm trying to get the air conditioning functioning in my sons 1990 Jeep Cherokee. The compressor won't engage. These are the tests I have completed so far, the pressure is go I have 12 volts at compressor cluch relay. connection #4 with climate control in a.c mode. The relay is not being closed by ECM. I tested inputs from the throttle position, intake air temperature, coolant temperature, and climate control head input. All sensors are within specification, but I still get no a/c clutch relay output from the ECM. I'm ready to condemn the ECM, unless some one has better input.

You can also try (carefully) tapping the compressor clutch with a piece of wood or the back of a screwdriver - sometimes the clutch gets frozen in place, or the shims are no longer adequate to maintain the proper air gap.

My message cut out the info about the pressure switch, sorry. I have jumpered the pressure switch, no operation. If I jumper power from the battery clutch will engage. It is definatly the ECM not calling for relay engagement, but I can understand why, as I said the ECM seems to be getting all the inputs it needs from the sensors and climate control head.

That thing is pretty awesome. I wish I had the cash for JCR stuff. Shipping it up here would probably cost 150% of the price of the actual gear though!!! Rusty's has some brace that is kind of like a support arm that bolts to the passenger side frame rail... cheap and hokey, doesn't seem like it'd really be worth the trouble.

I have a 2000 XJ I have been working on. The rear springs seem to be close to flat when the weight of the vehicle is on it. There isnt much arch to them. Is that normal? I have 2" shackles on it but the springs look weird. Any help would be appreciated

Should i be able to move my front driveshaft by hand about 1/8th of a turn in 2wd? Also, should the front DS spin while in 2wd?

towing behind motorhome
Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched for "towing" but didn't find a relevant thread so i figured this was a good one to ask in.
I'm shopping for a Cherokee and plan to tow it behind a motorhome part of the time. Are there any years or specific transfer cases I should avoid? I'm assuming i'll end up with a '97 or newer grand cherokee with an auto trans, but not sure yet. I'm new to Jeeps but in my chevy, i just put the TC in neutral and it's no problem.
Any advise is appreciated.

ok so i bought an 87 4.0 i6 manual trans with 31" tires, dana 30 front dana 35 rear, reibes blocks and coil spacers but it doesnt have a cat or muffler ("apparently" they broke it off on a trail, lost the cat, and threw the muffler in the back of the jeep). at first it revved really high unless put under a load, so i refreshed all the grounds, cleaned out the c101, throttle body, and mat sensor: problem fixed. new problem: idles at 500-700 and bogs like a som***** when starting off in first gear unless reved to almost peeling out rpms sometimes even that doesnt work and it will drop down to 0rpms and die unless i push the clutch back in and give it some gas for a second. 5th gear is unattainable unless breaking the speed limit, and anything under ~1500 bogs like hell in all gears. is this normal for my tires and 3.07 gears now that my injections working properly? or is there still a problem? probably lack of a cat (which will be getting done next paycheck) tps, iac, or 02 sensor (im hesitant to start stabbing my senser connections with a multimeter until i get some liquid elect tape)

model transfer case the Grands could come with but for the most part they're New Process/New Venture Gear just like the rest of 'em. Tcase in neutral and off you go!
