So yesterday i got bored and decided to take some stuff apart inside just to see what it all looks like and how it goes. I took out the center thing that has the cig lighter, fog light switch, etc.
(this is my first time uploading pics.. hope it works)
And then I looked closely and saw this guy chillin there not doing much...
I circled it in red
Anyone know what this plug is for??

prob for the extended idle switch, which you don't have
you'll likely find a lot of connectors that don't attach to anything. Jeep used standardized harnesses over a wide range of vehicle options

okay guys, so its about 100 degrees here in northern il every day and i just noticed my jeep temp starts raising up pretty quickly at idle like at stoplights and whatnot, just put in a 180deg thermo and drilled a decent lil hole in it and it still raises like that, what could it be? i have a 4.0 h.o but don't have an aux electric fan, could that be the issue? it didnt seem to do it when i was on my way home from buying it, thanks in advance!

Grab all coolant hoses when engine is warm. If one feels cooler thermostat not working. Engine warm take rolled up paper and shove into fan while engine running. If you can stop the fan, bad fan clutch. Check water pump hole. Park on incline, radiator at top and rebleed system. Could be temp sensor, head gasket or gauge
