I forget what code it was but I have a pocket scanner that I can check with in a day or two

Chirp
So I have had this chirp for a while;
Pep Boys diagnostics: Water Pump, replaced and chirp remains.
Pep Boys re-diagnosis: Fan Clutch, replaced and chirp remains.
Pep Boys re-diagnosis again: Harmonic Balancer and Power Steering Pump pulley misalignment, replaced Harmonic Balancer and Pressed on Power Steering Pump pulley until the belt was aligned with the Water Pump and chirp remains.
I am getting my money back tomorrow. I have replaced every single pulley within the last year, the Water Pump, Idler, Clutch, AC Delete and Harmonic Balancer with the last 2 months. The belt is also 2 months old (Gates), tightened to as close as I could get to a 1/4" deflection. Spraying water on the belt does not change the noise, there is nothing noticeably wrong with any pulley turning them by hand. I don't know where to go from here.
I now officially hate Pep Boys.

I'm having trouble starting and keeping it running.
somedays it will crank and crank forever and never catch, others it will fire right up...
but before you suggest the CPS, the truck will die driving down the road and then not start back up, or take forever to start back up...
So, my question is; could the CPS kill the truck? or only keep it from starting?
ive replaced one before on a previous jeep, but ive never run into this problem before..
any help is appreciated

Before you go messing with sensors though have you done a ground freshening?

I don't know that I would say it is surging, more like dipping when I let off the accelerator... Particularly when the ac is on... But again, all of it started after the batt drained.
I suspected what the big h said, so I'm just gonna give it a couple of weeks and see if the ecm relearns and returns to normal.
My apologies if you've already done this & I just missed it in the thread.

Just ran it without the belt and no noise.

Yes absolutely. The CPS is used by the ECU to determine if the engine is rotating. It relies on the signal pluse in order to liven the coil and fire the fuel injectors. Same thing happens during no start as when the engine just dies. If you replace the unit make sure to get an OEM dealership one as the aftermarket ones have a bad reputation of being very poor quality (many DOA)

checking them? or cleaning/redoing them?
100% yes - when my CPS went bad the truck would die at stop lights, or diving down the highway at 70mph - didn't matter. Sometimes it would start right back up, other times it would take 5-10 minutes. Finally it got worse till it wouldn't start again at all.
Replace it asap before it leaves you stranded like it did me.
