My apologies if you've already done this & I just missed it in the thread.
No apologies needed here, friend. Thanks for the suggestion - no corrosion on the terminals, and I actually have the felt pads around the terminals that prevent corrosion... good to know for future though.

I think I'm going to hold to the suggestion of the ECM having to re-learn due to the long period of no power (approx 5 hours). Started it up today and the idle didn't dip as low. Still not doing the brief high-idle on startup that it used to, but it's not critical... it did that once before when I briefly unhooked the ground on the battery to do some work... only took a couple of starts for it to return to normal.

Cleaning/redoing. There's a pretty nice writeup that cruiser54 likes to post on here for the Renix models, most of it applies to later years as well.

so i have a 89 jeep cherokee that one of the PO removed all of the a/c components in front of the firewall(except compressor which I'm sure is bad) can i go to a junkyard and grab everything i need from a newer model, with the r-132a type refrigerant, and put it in mine? id also need a brand new accumulator so id buy one for the newer cherokee correct?

thanks!

All the pulleys seem fine, no grinding, no play. I even got a stethoscope and nothing. I have 2 Gates belts that are ~2 months old, same thing with both.

Default How much torque to apply on exhaust manifold bolts.

Im replacing my exhaust manifold soon and the haynes manual dosent specify how much to torque the bolts. Does anyone know the correct torque. If not I was just going to torque them all down a little at a time till I had a nice even seal say 25 or 30 ftlbs.

Exclamation Front windshield wiper tab

Hey guys, I was removing my wipers to get to my cowl and the tab that locks the arm in the up position broke off Is there an easy way to get it off at this point?

Have you tried Goodyear Gatorback? The 4.0 is a tricky beast

There is a special sequence and different torque level. The nuts on the end are 23ft-lb and the rest are 24 ft-lb.

You can find additional details in the knowledge base hosted on the Morris 4x4 web site http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowled...ex.htm#service

Can I replace my 92 manual trans with 98 manual trans? I am trying to switch from internal slave cylinder to external on my 4.0 litter cherokee. I just picked up a trans from a 1998 sport. I hope it is a direct swap. Thanks
