Ok so ive got 3 inches of lift and im going to 30's which is barely a step up from my 235's but im getting these 30's mounted on 15x8 rims with 3.75 inches on backspacing... this should cause any rubbing right?

About a month ago, my 97 cherokee started running a bit hot (past the 210 mark) then it suddenly shot up to the red. I pulled over and let it cool down. After a while I was able to make it all the way home (Was not far at all).

I decided to bleed the coolant. After that, it ran fine right at 210 for about 2 weeks, then again on the highway it started to run a little hot and then overheated while my fiancee was driving. She pulled over and we had to have her dad come tow it home. While we waited, it cooled down some and I decided to try bleeding the coolant again. Guess what, it fired up and sat at 210 the whole time. (both times you could tell it had been a little hot).

I've found that my radiator appears to have a very small pin-hole leak. You can hear it hiss after I shut the jeep off and it smells a bit like coolant but I don't ever see any on the ground.

Anyway, I think what is happening... After driving the vehicle and cycling the cooling system it lets air in every time I shut it down and then the system develops hot spots. So once I bleed the air out of the system it is fine for a while until it randomly over heats again.

Sound plausible?

I'm gonna have a used/tested radiator sent over and swap it in if it isn't too much work and go from there, because I'm certain the radiator has at least some leak.

I'm also going to toss on a new radiator cap for the heck of it and keep the old one.
Anyone?

Default 1996 4 cyl cherokee

i cannot find the low pressure sensor on my jeep, ac stopped working and i would like to jump the compressor to make sure its not seized. i can spin it with my hand, but when i turn ac on it doesnt spin. ac just blows hot air. everything i have been finding is for the 6 cyl which is different than my 4 banger. i know the first problem was buying the 4 cyl but i was 17 and its was a new jeep to me 15 years ago. so any help ? i want to recharge the ac but i figured testing the compressor before i go any farther. thanks in advance guys.

Try getting access to a coolant pressure tester. It will help you find the leak better. But it sounds like your radiator is leaking.

Look at the engine bay from front of jeep. Back left corner by where the tubes go through the firewall is a black bottle looking thing. That's the accumulator.

Hey everyone I finally got around to taking my doors off, and it is awesome to say the least, I have the door sensors unplugged for the moment. I just picked up the hardware to install some bypass switches, does anyone know which wire I should splice into?

By the way, with the 1000lb doors off it even feels a bit quicker.

thanks for all the help everyone, NPerryman, on my jeep, 1996 cherokee 2dr sport 4 cyl, it is located in front of the radiator behind the grill. i tested it and the clutch works, what happened is that aluminum hose that goes form compressor to accumulator sits up against the radiator mount, and after 16 years has rubbed enough to create a pinhole in the line. causing a leak. didnt know until i turned car off, hear a hissing sound, then saw fluid on the ground. traced it back to the line. thanks again everyone. guess i need to purchase some new line and refrigerant.

Did you mess with the torque converter at all?

Sounds like you don't have the convertor seated all the way in. Check this out. >->
