You shouldn't have to put anything other than a gasket on it. Just make sure you clean the two surfaces really good.

Thank you for the awesome picture, but where does the switch I want to install come into play? Can I just splice the chime and light wires to a switch? I have no electronics in my doors.

Oh ok sorry i missed that part lol the easiest thing to do would be to use a DPST switch. You would do just like the diagram i posted except replace the plugs with that switch so you can run two separate circuits on the same switch.

Alright, just pulled in the driveway...

Went to roll up the passenger window, it slipped and the went all the way down... did it just slip off the track? Or has something worn out?

When I hit the switch I can hear it cranking I tried to wiggle the window (what I could touch anyhow) while I hit it and got no where.

Its a 99 4dr power windows...

Anyone know what's the issue?

Sounds like it could have come off, I'd take the panel off and look inside

I will tomorrow, too late to get into it tonight.

The window that fell had beenoving slow for a while. Could that be a bad regulator? And would a failed regulator cause it to fall?
