I think that's the worm gear? It was fully extended just sitting I'm the door. How do I get it back in the track?

edit:

Just Googled and realized that it feeds in thru the top....

Replaced my alternator a couple months ago. Lastnight I was fine. Got up and she would crank at all. Friend gave me a jump and I drove around and noticed it felt like a loss in horse power when i gave it gas. Turned it off as won't crank again. This is really soon for it to burn through a new alternator already.

My question is: does anyone else have alternator issues? Like going through them. If so, suggestions? Upgrade to a high output?

Update: just went out to push it to test my battery. Heard the buzz when I opened my door and she started up. Any thoughts?

I don't have the lower part of my dash lol. It was all cracked and broken so I got rid of it. 18 years in AZ heat tends to destroy any kind of structural integrity plastic has.

Did you do a load test on the battery or alternator. Any auto zone can do that. When you say loss in horse power please describe. Low RPMs, hesitation in throttle. And gauges, any changes in battery gauges. Also what you drive again girl, I'm on my phone can't see your profile

Not the battery it's a new optima, not the alternator I started her and removed the negative and she kept running strong around the block. When I say horse power I mean it felt like it was hesitant in throttle when I layer on the gas. Usually you can feel the resistance but it was smooth but slow. Gauges all fine. Holding at 14vts. My friend said maybe starter solenoid?

Might sound repetitive, but trying seafoaming through the vac lines. Use the link on my signature for instructions. I don't know if your two symptoms are similar. Trying looking up troubleshooting the solenoid but I'm more concerned about the hesitation. I use to have that feeling too back in the day and it sucks.

I sea foamed it not to long ago and it's so clean hardly any smoke. Im just used to feeling it pick up on the peddle and it's running so smooth and quiet it concerns me. Reverse paradox.

For the last couple of days, my jeep has not been starting on the first try. It starts fine on the second try. Now today I have extremely low rpms at idle, and when I let off the gas the rpms get really low. It has also stalled twice.
It's a 2000 with a 4.0.
Anybody got any ideas?

Have you looked at the switches on the doors? Sounds like a door is partially open, one of the switches has failed, or there's a short in the wiring. I'm not sure about the pre-97s, but on my 99 the rear dome light over the cargo area can be pressed and controls whether or not the interior lights come on with the hatch opening. Could be that?

You still have a stock cat. It may be on its way out. Although it will pop a CEl when it finally really going. Also, how long ago was your tune up. Just trying to throw some ideas at you.
