Replaced my alternator a couple months ago. Lastnight I was fine. Got up and she would crank at all. Friend gave me a jump and I drove around and noticed it felt like a loss in horse power when i gave it gas. Turned it off as won't crank again. This is really soon for it to burn through a new alternator already.
My question is: does anyone else have alternator issues? Like going through them. If so, suggestions? Upgrade to a high output?
Update: just went out to push it to test my battery. Heard the buzz when I opened my door and she started up. Any thoughts?

I don't have the lower part of my dash lol. It was all cracked and broken so I got rid of it. 18 years in AZ heat tends to destroy any kind of structural integrity plastic has.

My friend said maybe starter solenoid?

For the last couple of days, my jeep has not been starting on the first try. It starts fine on the second try. Now today I have extremely low rpms at idle, and when I let off the gas the rpms get really low. It has also stalled twice.
It's a 2000 with a 4.0.
Anybody got any ideas?

Have you looked at the switches on the doors? Sounds like a door is partially open, one of the switches has failed, or there's a short in the wiring. I'm not sure about the pre-97s, but on my 99 the rear dome light over the cargo area can be pressed and controls whether or not the interior lights come on with the hatch opening. Could be that?
