Start it up, and coolants coming out of the therm housing and water pump. I shut it down. Snug down all the bolts I can reach without take stuff off again, topped it off. Say **** it, put up the tools, lock up. Stopped at the gas station to get smokes and whiles I was in there.... it didn't drop a bit. Stop and pick up my daughter, didn't drop a bit there either. Same thing when I got home. So, anybody know why this would do that? It just doesn't magically stop leaking right? I just used the paper gaskets no rtv. I cleaned the engine surfaces shiny, and wiped em off... its what I've always done and never had this issue.
Also, with a new belt should it squeak a little on start up? just like 1 sec and then it stops. Never had this issue either.
Thanks guys (and gals)...

Oh yea even cleaned the ones that weren't replaced recently. It was definitely coming out from therm housing and pump... I could see it.

I wouldn't worry about if you have driven it around and it still isn't leaking, just paper is good, I used rtv and let it dry some before putting mine in and no leaks. But now I am kind of regretting it because tomorrow I have to replace it again after about a month and maybe 100 miles on it. I hear lots of people complain about the squeal on start up, seems pretty common, but mine chirps all the time and it's driving me nuts.

If the belts chirping all the time it might be one of the pulleys...

Curious, why would the zj fan clutch be making the noise if it's new? I just put 2.5L fan clutch on mine, which I believe is the same one.

I have a spare 8.25 that I am swapping out my howler with, when I do I was planning on getting the reusable rubber gasket. Yeah I have replaced EVERY single pulley in the last two months and now the water pump is bad already, swapping it tomorrow along with a ****-ton of other stuff if the jy excursion proves to be fruitful and I don't get lazy.

It was more speculation as to it making the belt squeak on start up. But my thinking was its just a little too much resistance at first for the belt? Again thought just speculation, as the two issues (wrong fan clutch, and squeaking belt) may not ne related. (That sounds like a disclamer right? Lol)

That's funny because, the first az I went to the guy looked up my parts for a 2.5L and the first one he brought out looked right but it was used and beat up so he was going to get another ons and then I pointed out he looked up for a 2.5 not a 4.0 and he found the "right one" at another store. Which turned out to be the zj one.
