Ok, I've read through the whole thing. Since I did put a whole can in the tank and blasted the TB with about 75% of the Deep Creep, I will go back and put half a bottle of regular SF in through the brake booster vacuum hose. Hopefully that will do it. Thanks for the help.

Could this also be that there was literally like 0% trans fluid in the trans? Just found that out

He should check throttle cables, the pedal, clean the butterfly etc. as long as that throttle plate is open and air is going in you'll be moving

Edit and by throttle cable I should be more specific and jut say the cable coming from the pedal. By saying throttle cable I don't want you to think he throttle cable for the tranny

What year is your Jeep? I have a 1988 that had a issue with bad grounds in the wireing harness. Cruiser54 helped me figure out how to bypass those grounds and solder the crappy grounds to make good grounds. My problem was with the bad grounds it was giving the computer all kind of crazy readings and the computer was trying to adjust but the numbers were constanlty changing. As soon as I fixed the hounds I fired it up and was running steady at 500rpms.

My 91 did that... turned out the tube for crank case gasses came off the the valve cover, and was keeping the bracket from moving freely...

Think it's a sticking cable?? Guess that's plausible, what spots should I check? And nDESERTXJ206, it's a year older than yours, 89

Wondering if maybe thats my problem,, mine is an 88. i idle at about 1000 rpm in park and neutral and it comes down when i shift into gear.. Sometimes when i start it up the rpm races to 2500 -3000 and i have to turn the engine off and on usually just once.. Today it took 2 trys to bring it down.. Is this close to what yours was doing with the grounds being bad?

Same year and same symptoms here. Don't think mine was bad grounds, though. I cleaned the IAC and TB with carb. cleaner and haven't had that happen since. But I'm not ruling out bad grounds on yours, just giving you another potential diagnosis...

Damn, that sucks. Try them grounds next I guess... If not that, that C-101 connector is on the list.

Edit: You can reference this article by Jp magazine and scroll down to the "Run, Run Rudolph" section as this may be a cause to your problem. I know my header gasket has partially blown out on the front of my engine to the point that I can grab it and pull it out...

Do you happen to have a picture of your engine compartment that i can use to compare to mine? I have some soldering from the previous owner that kind of concerns me. Searching google now but not having much luck

I'd have to take a picture. However, I haven't done anything special with my grounds or my C-101 connector as I don't suspect any problems (as of yet) with them. But I can certainly snap a picture if you'd like. It's going to look a lot different than a typical '88 though hahaha.
